Shouldn't the age of the ps3 and the cheaper harware used to manufacture consoles and accessories automatically cause the price to drop?

Some reasons I support the scene is because of sony's greed. The ps3 is 6 years old already which in technological terms equates to about 60 years. However, the price of the ps3 and its accessories has not dropped much for these newer stripped down versions. Sony has gutted the original version of the ps3 with less expensive and cheaper harware. Also the hardware that is now used cost Sony less to make but their sixaxix controller still sells for its original launch day price of $54.99. That is absurb and reeks of pure greed at its core.

So, shouldn't the age of the ps3 and the cheaper harware used to manufacture consoles and accessories automatically cause the price to drop? I think so.

True, but I still do not see the Microsoft doing anything better than Sony. Well perhaps banning hackers instead of suing them.

Microsoft is still selling accessories for the same astronomical prices they were selling them when the 360 came out. At least that is the case here.

its business if some would by a mars bar for £100 would you sell it them? If yes thats what a business man would do its all profit they will look after the little man if they carry enough weight but as long as there making a profit there doing there job right,

Song is a business, and good business to to make good profit. Its supply and demand, if the demand is there then why would you lower the price?

People have the option on buying Sony, or Chinese imports (talking about 6axis).

If people still want a ps3 as many do, the the price won't change, if sales start lagging, then we will see a drop.

True Blue was a complete rip off, but flocks of people went to buy it. The funny thing was when they had to come to these forums for help not only since the day it was released (the fact that TB gave no support should have made others stay away but it didnt), but even now with cfw4.31 out they need help converting from TB cfw!

I myself would not have given any of these people any help due to the fact they are the main contributing factor that the scene went eh way it did. If noone bought the product it wouldnt have sold so much and stop some dev from releasing their findings. The dongle buyers deserved to be left in the dark like the rest of us were this last year.

As for $ony and the PS3, the price has come down a bit from £280 to £210 in some places. But seeing as as usual we in the EU get ripped off on electronics the price should still be lower. But hey, with all the latest news on $ony I doubt you really want to be getting new $ony products, especially with $ony being given their junk status.


As for corporate greed, that's what has got the world into the problem it is now facing. Estate agents and mortgage lenders overestimating house prices and giving loans to every Tom Dick and Harry; Banks gambling with our money; Money being put into shareholders' wallet rather than being invested into providing improved utilities and services. Corporations finding loopholes to avoid paying hundreds of millions of pounds/dollars in taxes whilst the people are wrung more of their wages to make up for it.

We dont need money in this world, it with religion are the greatest evils in this world. But people cannot imagine a world without the need for money, they are afraid of change and not knowing how things will turn out. So whilst there have been several revolutions in the middle east, here in the west people are too afraid to stand up against their "democratic" regimes!
Cos believe me, the rich control the world, the only way to make a better world and governments would mean starting a revolution, which in turn will most likely lead to civil wars. But isnt any future better than the one we see coming with the current state of affairs?

Just look at Sony's investor reports, their annual losses of hundreds of billions of yen, and you can see why they refuse to drop the price.
