Use http://www.multiupload.nl/V02XHK77H7 to dump SDAT on CFW 4.xx

The SDATs that are dumped are decrypted in the CFW using EDATKEY1.

If we could know EDATKEY1 we could build a PC app to do this all for us, like oakhead69's sdat tool.

WOOHOO ingame I got a gun at last <snip> this game is freaking random, but it technically is working properly I think.

The mini map is borked, there is no FMV, there is no real direction in the game, nor tutorial on what to do.

You just seem to have to run about finding missions to do??

Trophies + bare basic gameplay <snip> no spoilers..

Not working:
FMV + mini map + saving (blinks forever, but no hdd activity makes me think its not writing anything anywhere)

Baffling:
No sense of what the hell to do, just wonder around and try find a mission or something!?

What else:
In the first area jump the crates to "escape" the shonky graphics. <snip> no spoilers...

More:
I think if SDATS are decrypted this might well fully work

EDIT: testing SDATS yielded same borked results

@DEFAULTDNB - Thanks .. I have been watching your discussions and it have been very helpful when trying to learn more about 3.55 patching. Yet , I came to a point where you have mentioned the issues of sdat/edat files ( i think it was the PLAYSTATION ALLSTAR ROYALE BATTLE ). I'm kinda sick of other user's always trolling about " I told you to upgrade to CFW " but it seems we simple can't do without them. At least, not all of them are too pranky and some of them are willing to lend a helping hand.

PS: The new darkeboot fixer has also option 17 .. for fixing pkg files ( would that be of no help in regards to our problem ? Or simply fixing the crack pkg would not resolve the encrypted file dependencies ?

I ftpd the eboot/self's to my laptop and tinkered from there. For me just the eboot fix would error out so I modded the selfs too, and now it semi works....

Updated to 4.30 Rogero and game starts with fmv of party guys. Then cutscene of being locked up and then you get to play and escape your captives. Met a guy who gave me a knife Graphics look okay so far.

Going to try that program DefaultDNB posted for the .sdats now.

If you can spit the 2 out decrypted I can run them through @oakhead69 's tools and test how much better it may or may not work....

Just realized @redtree I had no knife as well as no FMV at the beginning...zz

It just starts and says "check point reached" <snip> no spoilers...

Save game doesn't work at all for me.

I started a new game after trying to save (save just loaded forever and did nothing, had to quit game and restart)

Same thing again, no FMV no <snip> no spoilers ...
