This is true, but it would be handy if they released everything decrypted to the lowest level.

That way we could decide what to do with the files (which FW to encrypt them for), and whether we want to have to update our FW .

BTW my latest test has just fixed it FMV working, everything working now, I will upload the files any minute now, just testing the save file... seems to be sketchy.. props to @redtree

EDIT saving not working, save symbol flashes on screen and doesnt stop. Cant quit game, cant do anything but play the proper story mode now, but without saving...

i wouldnt say 3.55 is outdated...........thats like saying a '69 Camaro is outdated ... just cos its not new dosnt mean its not amazing...it has served us well over the years and shouldnt be discarded just because "the new kid on the block" has arrived.

Downloading now, will test and verify, uploading my partial fix but the save game isnt working hopefully this wolverine89's fix is better...

If this is anything like Far Cry 2 was, I will stay away. FC2 made me sick to my stomach. Something about the way the graphics were; it was EXACTLY like Goldeneye: Rogue Agent.

Shame, loved the first Far Cry.

@Simonbuck the wolverine pack doesnt have the SDATS included at all, so if saveing works I will pair it up with @redtree and my fixes and bingo

The wolverine fix doesnt work....

It now errors:

to play this game you must insert the following disc, insert disc, and then start the game again (8001003D)

I personally have no idea

I would think the data is held in the eboot.bin or game.self, but I honestly wouldnt know where to start looking or what to do to it to fix it even if I found it...

Both do the same thing, auto save is broken and so you cant save your game, but FMV and everything else is now working... so... yeah 90% done...

Perhaps @bungholio , @sandungas or @Ada Love Lace might have an idea on fixing the auto save bug? or atleast where to look to influence this issue
