Dehashing is not needed, when downgrading from 3.55 to 3.41.

You have to dehash, when you downgrade from 3.56 or higher to 3.55 or lower.

The syscon hash checks are different on 3.56+ firmwares.

What firmware version does it ask you for, when you choose option 6. in the recovery menu? What does it say in system info in system settings on the xmb?

If it says 3.56, then that is definitely your problem.

I don't think installing 3.40 in recovery will work. Unless your console Qa flagged?

How did you downgrade from 3.55 to 3.41?

Did you use Factory/Service Mode to downgrade?
I think FSM downgrade is how you fix that, if that is your problem.

What error codes are you receiving, when trying to update? That will give us a better idea of what the problem is.

ok is there another way to get into the downgrading proceeger cuz when i try to install the .pkg file that it needs in order to go into factory service mode it gives a 80029564 error when trying to install it

btw i have to use my psjailbreak dongle to get install pakages option

You will need to update the psjailbreak dongle with the latest update hex. So you can use it to enter factory service mode.

With the PS3 off, pull the plug or turn the switch off. So there is no red standby light.
Insert dongle into the right usb port. Turn power back on. Then press power, then eject within a split second.
Your PS3 should shut off automatically.
Then insert a fat32 formatted usb drive, with the lv2diag.self for downgrade and PS3UPDAT.PUP.

i didnt think it was gonna be a big hassle to go back

also playerkp420 thats a big nope it wont work without the update files cuz the sites no longer available inst there a way to downgrade without a dongle or anything? there has to be another way to goto 3.40 so i can goto 3.41
