As the title says im having a problem trying to downgrade to 3.55. i need to remarry my drive that took a **** on me and all instructions are saying to go back to 3.55 and do it. so thats what im trying to do but for some reason when i try to install Rogerodowngrade pup it says i need over 4.30 in the xmb and when doing it from factory mode it tells me i dont have a proper firmware to install. ive used the same pup to downgrade rogero 4.30 V1, install 3.55 ofw, 3.55 3.7 rogero and back up to 4.30 V2. but now i cant do the same procedure. any ideas??? i need to get my drive working again

Obviously i tried that before posting. I dont have my original drive in my station is the only change I've done. I have the new drive that i wanna marry installed. Do I need to swap back my old drive then downgrade?? Doesn't make since but I'm up for suggestions.

Why don't you just use the logic board from your old drive? Then there is no reason to remarry the new one.

The downgrade PUP won't work from XMB. You have to install it from the recovery menu.
Also, make sure the PUP is named correctly and in the correct file path, on a fat32 formatted USB.

I was under the impression the downgrade PUP only worked from XMB and recovery was risky, not sure where I see it but I think someone bricked from Recovery menu, I have downgraded twice from XMB fine.

Downgrade from recovery is always the safest bet according to most CFW devs.

Yeah, I think you got that backwards. I only tried once from the xmb and got an error. So I figured you always would.

But recovery menu is definitely the safer way. That is why it is called RECOVERY menu.

Also you should of had Qa Flag toggled on and leave it on, before updating to 4.21+ CFW. Maybe that has something to do with problems people are having.

But I am putting my money on naming the PUP wrong or wrong file path. Maybe redownload or copy the PUP file again, and check the md5 hash also. Reformat the USB to fat32 with the quick box UNCHECKED.

Really though, if the OP still has the old drive. There is no reason to downgrade and remarry a new drive. That is a bunch of extra not needed work. That can be fixed with a precision phillips head screwdriver.

- While on Rogero CFW4.30, go to System Update from XMB and install the Downgrader PUP.

Taken from the official tutorial, usually I would agree about the recovery menu but I had a hunch I had seen otherwise hence the reason I mentioned it.

And totally agree there is no need to downgrade anyway as remarry is not needed.

I also thought we were supposed to downgrade from xmb with the downgrader. I'll try formatting the usb stick again. But thought all usb sticks came fat 16 anyway.
