Hi, I came here for help because SKSapps forum is kinda dead.

I have a SCPH 30001-R (V5) ps2 fat model, and I have 1 ps2 game around the house right now.

I ripped my MGS3 (Subsistence) with DVD Decrypter.

I edited the .iso's NETDOWN.ELF byte size using apache 1.1 (IN TOC) to match the uncompressed_BOOT.ELF (renamed to NETDOWN.ELF) byte size.

Updated (Swapped) the .iso's NETDOWN.ELF with the ulauncher one.

I used MEMENTO to patch the iso.

Used DVD Decrypter to Write the iso at 4x speed (its a 16x speed DVD-R)

I have the install folder; FREEMC_BOOT.ELF, and NETDOWN.ELF on the usb drive. (tried it in both usb ports)

First try - Had to play the game to create a save so that I could access the "Special" option on main menu. - Restarted PS2, connected internet cable to BB adapter.

Hit Start, swapped discs, hit SPECIAL, hit CAMOFLAUGE DOWNLOAD, and it asked me if I have 850KB space on MC to save camo's... Said YES. (Shouldn't ULE have booted?) downloaded a camo.

Restarted, Disconnected internet cable, Hit start, Swapped discs, Hit Special, same results. - It even let me download camo's without internet hooked up lol.

Someone on Yahoo answers said this: "it can only be done with Snake Eater, not Subsistence

Subsistence was "edited" so people without internet could still download the camo patterns, it has a fancy little "connecting to network" animation, then loads the menu regardless of if you're connected or not, so the .ELF file doesn't load the same way"

Sucks I Had snake eater, persistence, tons more games but now there "who knows where"

I burned a backup of Snake Eater with ULe'd NETDOWN.ELF and tried using that as a swap from Subsistence but it still tried to get me to download a camo - then froze.

are you trying to install FMCB? i would suggest using a gameshark with save data backup utility, hack the boot.elf on the memory card and use a PS1 disc to launch ULE. thats how i did it back in the day.

How do you do all that! I have a gameshark MC but I don't have the disc!
Also besides MGS3:Subsistence, I do have PS1 game NFS: High Stakes

I just bought GTA Trilogy from walmart ($20) they had no games in the $5 bin, Gamestop's don't buy or sell ps2 games around me, so I'm kinda SOL.

So I got GTA3/VC/SA, MGS3: Subsistence (Disc1), and NFS: High Stakes (PS1 game)

a USB Drive, my PS2 (Fat) is opened for disc swap, and I got DVD-R's/CD-R's to burn to.

I got DVD Decrypter, Apache, Memento, Alcohol 120%, CDGen, and some other stuffs.

Wish I could find a tut for using replacing SLUS with ulauncher.elf's or using GTA (which has no elfs?) to MAKE A FMCB, shiiat been at this 3 days with no help and its getting frustrating. $20 more into this than I'd like to have spent, but...
