CEX Rogero 4.21 downgrade to 3.55 but goes to 4.40

I am so confused, I updated from ofw 3.55 to rogero 4.21 v1.09 then I finally was going to go ahead and go to regero 4.30 v1.04. I went to recovery mode and used the downgrader pup like I thought I was suppose to. But, when it finishes, and go back to recovery mode to upgrade to 4.30 v1.04 is say that I need fw 4.40 or greater. But, if I restart the ps in normal mode, and go to firmware verison, it says 4.21, and I can still use multiman and all the apps. I am so confused, what did I do wrong. I can't upgrade, but it seems I am still on CFW. and there was no disc in the drive. please tell me what to do, or give me the link to do what I need to do.

The PS says FW 4.21, but I still have access to multiman, and if now load a game that worked on rogero 4.21 v1.09 is asked me if I want to change the SFO file to 3.55. If i try to run the downgrade again through recovery it says data is corrupt, same as if I do it through the XMB. and always ask me for a fw 4.40 or higher. any help at all?

1. Make sure no disk in BD drive.
2. Ignore what version it wants, it's incorrect, just press start + select as requested.

You can't QA flag on firmware higher than 3.55.

To QA flag on 3.55 based firmwares (this includes the 999 downgrader and 4.25-3.55 hybrid) you install the "qa package" (do a google for it), it's a pkg file you install from the "install packages" option on the XMB.

Once installed you then run it through the icon on the XMB, your PS3 should restart and make a couple of beeps.

To ensure it has defo been QA flagged, you press...

L1\L2\L3\R1\R2\Dpad-down - All at the same time, whilst you have "network settings" selected on the XMB (don't enter network settings, you press it just with it highlighted).

...a few more options will appear. This means you are defo QA flagged. You might have to try the button combination a fair few times as it's hard to press those buttons exactly at the same time.

Once you have been QA flagged, you can install 3.55 OFW without any worry of a brick, from there you can basically install any firmware even from the XMB.

Since it's on topic, one thing that wasn't clear to me. My ps3 is QA enabled, I did some firmware jumping, went from rebug 3.55.3 to rogero back to 3.55 and finally to 4.21 rex.

I get that QA does not work under 4.xx but if I decide to downgrade, does it rehash automatically, or do I have to toggle everytime in order to dehash?

The reason I ask is when I do downgrade to ofw 3.55 I can use the button combo successfully, so im not sure if I needed to dehash or if t does it on every downgrade since it's always QA enabled.
