rogero 4.30 v2 can be downgraded from XMB using the 999_DGR.pup and following the howto's the downgrader should be installed from XMB and not recovery
then check QA flag and install any 355cfw or maybe first rebug 3.55.3, if u set no spoof on it simply install another 355cfw from XMB, just make sure u are qa flagged but once u have set it and goes back to 355 it appears again, it just wont show on 4.xx

I guess it does say that. But just like when installing kmeaw over ofw 3.55, sometimes you get an error from xmb. And have to install from recovery.

I always use Condor Updater anyway. Its way easier.

i go up&down&up using the rebugs that is, all from xmb\hdd0\updater, once on 3.55.3 just make sure u have spoof in toolbox disabled so it reads 355 in settings, then debug setting "system update debug ON" and of u go with "any" 355cfw

then again nothing wrong with toolbox/condor updater booting into recovery for re-install to start fresh on 355

Every once in a great while, I get a PS3 that will say you already have the latest firmware or gives an error when installing Kmeaw over OFW 3.55. It is not often, but I have seen it many times. It was even in the old jailbreak guides, that if you get an error install from recovery menu.

To tell you truth, I don't think it matters where you install it from. But I believe it is better to install from recovery, so I use Condor Updater.

As for the OPs problem, maybe @heineken can update us on any progress?

I am curious to see if it was a simple folder or PUP named in incorrectly. Or if the problem persists.

I always thought that if you downgraded via recovery rather than xmb that all data would be lost from Hd. I have always d/g from xmb

I have done numerous downgrades from recovery, my hdd wasn't touched

Yeah, no data lost. It is like a QA flag downgrade.

The only time you will lose data is if you downgrade with Factory/Service mode. Since it will format the HDD that way.

dunno, I must have read it somewhere, its just stuck in my mind. Every time I've d/g I've always done it through xmb. Good to know it doesn't though

u have a done a couple overtime i guess never seen it myself tho...but i fully agree on recovery..sometimes its just the way to go to be save, also read somewhere that recovery vs xmb >> sometimes not always overwrites all files from xmb?! i think that's bull...only FSM install formats ur drive and going up&down from 355>4.xx, the rogero 4.30 pup removes the "act.dat" or the downgrader..dont quote me on it...not sure atm..must be Rogero cuse after using all rex firmwares a couple hours ago didn't remove it....either way... one of them deletes act.dat just like it does with FSM

but yeah...a logic board plugged in & working would help
