I've been reading through the forums on NGU and few of them did all the same steps but with the game on internal and got it working with their secondary accounts and new accounts.

Seeing that's somebody got it working with the lastgame pkg I think it's only working to detect mm. All the other steps are possibly unnecessary. Does the mm not work from external when installed with the Data utility?

lastgame.pkg does indeed work but its a pain to install mm as lastgame doesnt work correctly if consoles powered down or you boot an original disk ect

At the moment, anyone with CFW can't play the game online, without going through the extreme method in the first post.
Wrong! the method in the first post is extreme but its not needed!

i thought this so i went back through my source's turns out its not the cfw and its definatly the homebrew my findings are below:-

*Originally played/connected for over 6 hours on rogero 4.30 v`1*

Never formatted internal

Deleted all game data for old games that i knew needed eboot patchs/fix's for online/offline + DLC ect

started with a fresh copy of BO2 on a new external and made the whole folder Read only!

deleted all home-brew Via XMB only thing i had installed was MM (latest ver)

Booted MMOS went through every folder on internal deleting only data related to BO2

only places i found anything resembling BO2 was below:

Dev_hhd0/data
Dev_hhd0/home/
Dev_hhd0/savedata/
Dev_hhd0/tmp/

Booted back to MM Select + X on BO2

Booted bk to XMB deleted MM Via XMB then inserted disk and launched off Disk icon.

Game works flawless i've restarted to xmb powered off reinstalled MM loaded BO2 deleted MM booted and all is perfect not 1 error!

i then got curious and decided to try a few more methods repeating the above steps but adding certain homebrew ect
  1. Installed showtime - Server Error-Removed Showtime-Back working
  2. Installed QAToggle - Server online - Kept QAtoggle installed and continued
  3. Installed Coldbootinstaller - server error - Removed coldboot but kept QAtoggle
  4. Installed the walking dead 1-5 psn duplex - Server online - Good as new
  5. Installed Crash team raching ps2 game - Server error - Removed - Good as new so thats qa and 1 psn game
  6. Dumped a few games along side BO2 on the fresh external - Server error - Removed em all apart from BO2 - Good as new

this got me wondering i tryed a few more ps2 games not one would work

i only had 2 psn titles to use for this the walking dead 1-5 worked where as i am alive installed gave me serv error

what also make me think was the fact that if i added anything along side BO2 on the external it would throw me server errors

i then went digging around my 2tb hdd on the pc for old versions of multiman
all the new versions would throw me up server errors

BUT multiMAN ver 01.10.00 FULL.pkg worked

at first it wouldnt let me install so resigned for 4.21 and installed like a charm

theres alot of weird bugs on here like ps3 hard resets if i leave a disk in while booting MM a few more glitchs nothing major like the hard reset tho

but the FACT is this works

my current setup is

Rogero 4.30 v1 - MM ver 01.10.00 - psn the walking dead + qatoggle - Fresh Extrnal with just BO2 set to read only and another external with all my games that dont need fixs basically nothing for 3.55 or anything with dlc

obvioulsy i havent been playing atm due to tea and typing this ect but in the background its connected still and im still able to back out and rejoin games ect

i think Tryarch just got f****d tbh

well done to the original Finder of this on (NGU) whoever u may be

*this should help someone a little better at this than me to progress*
*or Maybe @deank can figure out what settings in MM have changed since 01.10.00 and the latest maybe test one by one to see whats flagging ect*

I have one question also

Could we not use the XMB bubble option to boot blackops instead of apphome/mm?

like upon installing the walking dead you get an xmb clickable no need to boot mm or even have it on ur console for that matter?

mite be a stupid idea but i have no informatyion regarding xmb bubble and mm has only just added the feature for rogero 4.30 v2
??

I think @Rautz also found this solution.

Anyways, here's a picture of the added game files to BO2. The one on the right has been updated. The one on the left is a fresh rip that is write protected/read only...

@ray0

So your able to play Black Ops 2 with multiMAN 01.10.00 without having to delete it?

Thanks for testing and seeing which methods work. Seems as if their scanning for certain files and homebrew (showtime, multiman, patched games)

Correct i had to resign the pkg to work on 4.21 + and its extremly buggy 1 example is leave a disk in and it hard resets the ps3 but its working and im online

@BobbyBangin also them BG0 and BG1 files r related to mm's emu process which is something we all discovered on that 85 page BO2 duplex thread, i did indeed say from the begginging it was something to do with this emu process hence why im wondering if this new XMB bubble install could possibly work?

ive no info regarding reload.self ect just clutching at straw its either that or mm needs a reload or a lite version just for these similar checks

ive checked the changelog for MM and theres alot been added to it could be a number of things prob be easier to get 01.10.00 cleaned and release as a LITE version lol

MMLite catchy

@ray0 Did multiMAN 01.10.00 have Showtime included in the pkg back then ?

If not, it might be the answer to remove Showtime from the latest MM and then try

Edit:

From the MM changelog the first reference to Showtime that I can find is version 01.16.15 so V 01.16.14 if my theory is correct should work also.

ive just logged off for the night thought id update..... still working 100% had a few time outs and server host migrations one of which blackscreened the game forcing me to power off completely upon reboot game works flawless

nope wasent included in 01.10.00 i personally dont think its multiman i think there scanning xmb or compairing against a black list of apps and looking for filesize diffrences which would be easy to achive using basic crc checks

as without multiman and just psn game i am alive it wouldnt let me connect

same goes for ps2 games server error on every attempt tried about 6 games had to remove them all

im interested to know tho so ill keep u updated its not about the BO2 for me its more about the drm their using on there servers as this could potentially be there final stand

i did think treyarch woulda went with BD+ tho instead of what seems to be a crummy server check...

no doubt £££ was the negotiator
