File System Corrupted

Hello,

Currently on Rogero 4.3 v1.3, was working perfectly until now. Booted my PS3 to find "The file system on the system storage is corrupted and will be restored." Letting it restore, it just gets stuck on a black screen after its completed. Tried going to recovery menu and restoring file system but it just stays at preparing. Also when I select system update so I can downgrade it back to 3.55 but it just freezes at there. Does anyone know how to fix this?

A corrupt filesystem usually means you have to format the hard drive. If you don't you'll get random freezes and might even possibly brick. Either that or your hard drive is dying.

I had a corrupt filesystem once and if you try any shortcuts your freezing will always get worse.

If you can try to go in recovery and select restore system, it will format and reset all settings. Of course you'll lose everything in that internal hard drive, but it will either solve it or require you to replace the hdd.

Good luck

What firmware would that bring me to?

If you do a restore it will be on the same fw just completely formatted like new. Make sure you have no disc inside or any usb storage device to prevent it from upgrading fw.

Just formatted, everything works fine. Just had to install Multiman again. Thank you all!
