thanks for the time for helping me haz367.. is there a way i could get to FSM mode without a dongle so i could continue to downgrading.. all i have is a flasher and a usb flash drive..

np, hope ur PS3 is alive again, well it should with original dump restored and wire removed.

for FSM, no other way then using a FSM dongle/device e.g psp,htc etc.. u can't use ordinary usb flash drive for that part..

booted OFW 4.21 successfully.. haz367 : ) next step now is to buy a good dongle for FSM and go through the downgrade.. can anybody recommend a good one..

update.. bought an e3 card reader for FSM...

new problem.. eject button wont work.. doesn't beep when pressed.. doesn't light up when game cd inserted.. has to be ejected from xmb... cant enter FSM because of it!..

before restoring ps3 and successfully recovering from brick.. connector from mainboard where ribbon to power and eject button broke of.. when to my friend to reconnect the loosed part.. successful in making the power button work and went on to recovering from brick.. didn't notice about the blue led and eject problem until right now.. can anyone help if they experienced the same problem.. dont know of its a flasher related problem or a proper connector/soldering problem..

seems like a screwed up ribbon/connector, the blue eject led not lightning up and not beeping can be no problem as i had one here..same deal..was previous returned to sn$ny for a BD fix, it came back like this(no blue led+no sound/beep) but still it worked, i can't help you more on this it's not my expertise..maybe ask guys like MrDutch etc...they know there stuff about such things

its a slim..

and by the way the green led doesnt light up also.. only the red LED..

i did the tristate to GND solderless when i unbricked it.. would it have cause the problems i am experiencing now? seems like the connector was soldered well.. but maybe i need it resoldered just to make sure

I am also positive your problem is the connector needs to be solder back on correctly.
