Fail0verflow WiiU teaser

http://fail0verflow.com/blog/2012/wiiu-teaser.html

The Homebrew Channel on Wii U - YouTube

Keep in mind that this is purely a demonstration at this stage. Depending on how things progress and what direction development takes, we may or may not release something like this in this form. Please don’t ask for release dates. We’d rather spend time investigating the new system than putting together a release that may or may not end up being the Right Way to do things in the future .

Please ignore the blue blinks. The monitor kind of sucks at syncing to component video sometimes. I would’ve used HDMI, but the Wii U cannot output analog audio simultaneously with HDMI (at least not for the Wii U menu part), and I cannot capture HDMI audio.
Promising

Along with Deadlyfoez WiiU NAND dump its going to be in interesting christmas

IOS5xx I wonder what that's about?

So they're using the Wii SSBB hack on the WiiU. It's looks like you have to be in the Wii Channel to use this. I've already seen this video by somebody else. I wonder if this is allow access to Wii U games or if they'll be able to enable the Homebrew Channel from the Wii U channel. This is why I like Nintendo so much.

Yeah, as far as I can tell its just a permanent HBC channel installed on vWii.

Its a good step, but all it means really is a new version of HBC is imminent (looks like nintendo didn't bother re-secure wii at all)

It will be fully sick when marcan/F0f exploit "STARBUCK" in WiiU mode

i hope this doesnt end up being too much too soon.
i'd hate to see the wiiu die to pirates right from the start.
it just takes over from the real purpose of having homebrew

I wouldn't worry about that. It didn't kill the Wii. In fact, I think it was one of those unspoken things that made it partially as successful as it was. Let's face it, the majority of people don't even know how to pirate. I've talked to so many people that don't download stuff simply because they don't know how. I softmodded the Wii for the Homebrew Channel before I knew what it did outside of enable DVD playback and emulators. Pirating was the last thing on my mind. People just like to have things unlocked. Plain and simple.

Even when they know - they don't do it being scared of breaking a console

Good point. In fact, Sony's fight against piracy has definitely hurt them more than it's helped them. They took much attention and effort away from those who were on OFW and focused solely on the few who had CFW. Most people would have been oblivious to their bad business practices had Sony not drawn so much attention to themselves with their lawsuits and terrible TOS's. Not to mention taking away OtherOS to prevent a jailbreak that happened anyways. You would think after that whole debacle that companies would want to stay away from it but Treyarc seems to be following those bad footsteps themselves.

Agree. I would dare say, I also believe it definitely was one of the BIGGEST reasons that the playstation won over the nintendo 64 back then, despite the n64 having awesome games, and being better hardwarewise.

The bigger potential CD storage capacity along with the capability to easily pirate for the playstation, definitely made it such a big success as it was.
