Stopping at "connect the controller with a usb cable"

Hello. I've been following the foolproof guide with my ps3. So far had some small issues but it have been working fine. Everything done until i should get into the Factory service mode... I've tried with both my PSP and my calculator TI-84. Both ending up not working. there are two things that have happened so far.
case 1: staring up as usual to the "connect your controller to usb or whatever."
case 2: fan going up in speed and it start to beeping, can't really say how many times but the in the end it's three beeps i think. And then it's just red in the light. can't do much else then just retry and start the playstation over again.
Edit: I have now tested with several different PSP FW's. Noone seems to work. just getting back to that connect usb screen. Even if the PSP shows that it have done the "connection" with the ps3 ( three rows of code, and then DONE on the end)...

If fans are firing up, then there is no contact between heatsinks and chips, better change the thermal paste before you get YLOD.

about TI-84 dont know about it.

Yes it is.

I use my PSP to enter Factory/Service mode. I think it only works on old phat PSPs. Mine is a 1001 on CFW 5.50 GEN PRO D.

Make sure to open PS3Jig, then Power off PS3 completely by switch or pull plug.
Plug PSP into farthest right USB port. Then flip switch on or put plug in.
Press power, then eject within a split second and wait.

I have used my PSP on a couple hundred different PS3s, and it has always worked, everytime. But like I said, it may only work on Phat PSPs.

okey. the problem is that my psp is phat, 1006 i think. And i have tried both on 6.60 , 6.20, and 5.50 with ChickHen cfw. Don't know much about psp but will i be able to get to 5.5 gen pro D without a pandora? from where i am now. (5.50), i can upgrade and downgrade to any ofw.
Thanks for the answer

You can get to 5.50 GEN PRO D, without a pandora battery. I was on 6.60 and got to it without a pandora battery. I can't remember what guide I used, but there is a way.

It looks like you installed Rogero v3.7 after dehashing?
Are you following my guide below?
After Qa Flag, you install OFW 3.55?
Then you can install any CFW you want. That step you must of installed Rogero v3.7.
Go to network settings, and do the button combo. To make sure qa flag is still toggled on.
Then you can update to any CFW you want.

It seems like the toggle is off. can i just turn it on, enter recovery menu and go for kmeaw 3.55 (part 3 of your guide), or do i have to take a 3.55 ofw. then go kmeaw after? I know that i've messed it up a bit now and i'm getting frustrated cus it took me years to finnish the dumping.
Don't really want to have to do the hardware part again.

Ah great. got ylod. I tried to install the OFW 3.55 from recovery menu. Anything to do...?
What if i going to repair that ylod. What fw will i start at if it suceed?, i guess i'll need a heatgun and some paste to cool the motherboard down. But i'm tired of this **** and just want to get to 3.55 kmeaw... Don't know how much time and money i want to spend on this console.
