i have downgraded one of these new slims that had a fully working drive (bdvd board built into motherboard) and guess what.

same thing the drive stopped working.

i then installed rogero 4.30cfw and the new multiman
in multiman i did the re-marry
it did it and told me to re-start
i did
the drive is now fully working again

btw the ps3 came in with 4.30ofw i dont know if that made a difference to the total loss of drive function

the blue led comes on when there is a disc in if you have no disc and you have opened the drive then chances are the drive needs resetting.
i think you reset by having the ps3 turned off then press and hold just the eject button. the ps3 turns on then the drive motors start turning as it resets. all this time you keep that eject pressed in.
but i could be wrong. been a while since i reset one.

Nah that should be the only sensor. I'm completely clueless on what to do at this point. Only option I see now is buying a new Blu-ray drive which isn't cheap.

Can't even attempt this now since I can't get on XMB. I already tried all the safe mode options. Can't get the PS3 to access the update file on the USB due to the faulty Blu-ray drive

follow my guide to downgrade to 3.55ofw

at this point it is de-hashed

put 3.55 3.7 rogero on then put the latest multiman on then updated to 4.30v2 rogero cfw
at this point the bdvd was "dead" no function at all
went into multiman and did the bdvd re-marry fix

i was wondering if the multiman fix works in 3.55 rogero? for anyone who has this in 3.55 but i dont think it does

i think i finally found the problem. its seems somehow after downgrading, the drive logicboard(even tho its built in the motherboard) has somehow either been demarried from the motherboard or its been damaged somehow and the only way to remarry a logicboard is though FSM. ok found the guide and files on baileyscream's guide so will be trying it out tommrow as its getting late.

SogeKingOP were you able to play any hombrew after you downgraded because that's how i found out that the logicboard has been demarried somehow as no hombrew works.

if i flash back my 4.30 e3 backup over my currant 3.55cfw will there any brick problems?
