Hey all

Hope anyone can help me or show me in the right direction as this is the first time i experience something like this.

I have a ps3 fat that had ylod which i fixed (fixed a few before) but after i assembled the console the drive does not eject or inject. when i press the eject button it makes the sound but nothing not even the laser lights up.

If i take a working rom and put it in the ps3 it does the same so i am thinking its something on the motherboard and want to know if there is any component or IC that works with the rom from mainboard that can cause this problem.

I have searched but cant seem to find anything about this.

do you have a spare ribbon cable to swap out the big one that is connected to the drive?
or examine both sides to see if there's any damaged or loose copper.

EDIT|: maybe it's best that this thread is moved to modification and repair.
