1. clean install of black ops 2 on the HDD
2. delete all previous game data
3. open multiman and bd mirror black ops 2 from external
4. at xmb change game mode to USB
5. Multiman is still there but it doesn't work, as I guess it can't find the files
6. my guess is black ops would still boot as it's on the USB HDD
7. game mode is in USB so the servers might not be able to detect multiman on the HDD

just a thought, only got the PS3 on Monday so as I said I'm new to all this..
That is exactly what i had done up until your idea. So i will install BOPS2 on my 64gb USB and mirror it external and see if it works.

Don't work, I tried earlier. Mm wont launch with that resigned gamedata tool. I installed it swapped to USB install and installed mm, tried to launch and it failed

forget it... whilst writing the above was posted

or maybe @BobbyBangin 's way of thinking is better..

Deleting multiman and all homebrew from the internal HDD, switching the gamemode to USB, installing multiman to USB, blops2 on the internal HDD, multiman internal & bd mirror, remove USB (so no multiman files present) then boot!

might try this method now!

Daft question. If you are on MFW with no Install Packages icon and you delete MM then how would you install it again?

but what about the other way around? multiman on internal HDD, swap game mode to USB then use the apphome/game link in XMB to boot black ops 2?

Thats the only way it would work...when you switch to USB mode the game disc icon reverts to whatever disc you have in. I purposely use an older game in case during downgrading i forget to remove it

wait a min, what about installing it so u can launch bo2 from the xmb without manager (i dont remember how though) that way u can switch to usb mode and launch it as if it would be a psn game.

ps: your ideas dont work cause when u switch to usb, the game disc gets loaded again, even in apphome.
But my idea is to use it with the xmb launching/psn game style (haha) method. Get me?

EDIT: I've found this but its only for 3.55 http://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-to-...on-xmb.290011/
EDIT2: I'm not sure if im allowed to post links, if not sorry
