My current thinking is:
1) The ProgSkeet v1.1 works (judging by what I read 'out there' and works well).
2) My (our) ProgSkeet v1.2 does not work as it should possibly(?) due to an incomplete / still in development Bitstream for the FPGA (I'm guessing here).
3) The ProgSkeet v1.1 uses the same *basic* design as that for the ProgSkeet v1.2 and is based on the same FPGA, i.e. the Actel ProAsic3 AP125.
4) ProgSkeet v1.1 is no longer available to purchase from anywhere ("sold out").
5) Hence my plan is to convert my ProgSkeet v1.2 into a v1.1 & go from there.
6) And then... if a new working Bitstream for the v1.2 appears on the scene, revert back.

Andy

^ IF successful (and I see no reason why not without looking too deeply into it yet) I'll start a new thread explaining a 'how-to'.

It won't necessarily be easy and may require the removal of the SO-8 8MBit memory IC for starters...

Also, one will need to program the v1.1 Bitstream FIRST, before any mods are made (due to the fact that the v1.2 does not have a USB driver chip, whereas the v1.1 & v1.0 does).

Hey-ho, fingers crossed then & I suspect it will take me a week (?) ish (?) to do.

Good luck underwurlde;-)
I surrendered and bought a teensy++ and i can say it was the best decision i could do;-) Within two hours i soldered the teensy and flashed back my patched dump with no problems. So i can recommend to buy teensy (31$) instead of this piece of sh*t we all know;-)

Too late if you already bought one. Furthermore if you wish to repair a NAND PS3 then the Progskeet appears to be your only choice.

A few days ago I tweeted to uf6667 about this 1.2 failure to write issue. Then the 1.2 disappeared from the Progskeet site's products page. I don't know what the hell is going on here but I hope we all see it resolved.

Man this really sucks , yes their support is sh*t ... Tried talking to them in their IRC countless times. I think we all got ripped off .... I wish Xecuter would make something like this for the PS3 then it would be smooth sailing! Seems I must find a version 1.1 or just buy a damn Teensy

No, i wasn't. Couldn't write as many people in this forum.

I tried using clips on a fat ps3 with sem-001 mobo. Had no luck. The clips are pretty sensitive to a wrong seating or dirty nand pins. So i would always prefer soldering. E.g. for the sem-001 board there are alternative points you can solder to.

The teensy++ just works with nor mobos and you could use the 56pin nor clip. But as mentioned above the clips could be pretty hard to handle. As i mentioned earlier in this thread i could perfectly downgrade my ps3 with teensy. So it's definitely worth buying as long as the ps 1.2 doesn't work. And in addition to that it's way cheaper. I live in Germany and i paid almost half of the costs as for ps 1.2.

will buy v 1.1, according to many users it should work good on nor and nand- solderless-, the ps 1.2 will be sold, i hope, dind't managed to flash xbox 360 either.

how about transfering ps3 nand to xbox360 and reding it wit nand-x, would this work?
guess jrunner settings are not detailed enough, (pages per block etc)

Yep. I had a bad board. I contacted my seller and he sent me a new one and I shipped the dead one back. All is good now. Well, I have to figure out how to solder such tiny pins, buuuuut yeah!
