Best awg wire for E3 linker?

Considering how much of a pos the E3 nor clip is, I'm just going to solder the E3 linker. What would be the best size for the E3 linker? I was thinking that if it's too thin, it could break off easy, too big and it would be hard to manage and mess around with.

Do you recommend 30 awg? With those wires being that thin, have you ever been forced to be extra careful with them in terms of durability?

I use 30 awg kynar wire as it was the easiest to source where I live. Haven't had a problem with it breaking or anything so thumbs up from me. Someone recommended, I think on the wiki, to keep wire length under 20cm.

pre-bending the wires into position helps to avoid the chance of any breakage and keeps things tidy at the same time.
i have never had any issues with 30awg with anything i have used it for

Oh, another quick question, what temperature for the soldering iron? Especially on a component that is so small like 30awg wires to a e3 linker board.

Depends on the melting point of your solder..... Keep it low. Never go higher than what corresponds to 30W on these PCBs imo.. I use around 20W.

Also, 28-30 AWG kynar wire should wire just fine for this sort of job.

I have had a lot of issues about the wire breaking, watch out with bending it.
It used to break for me - until I became more careful, down near the solderpoint. The solder hardens the wire, so it breaks inside the cable near the solder joint.
It has broken a few times inside the cord too, but not that many. as Jap said, prebend it - just in case. and avoid bending it down at the solderarea after having soldered it in position.

I'm going to go with 28 awg. I want to make sure these wires have a good flow and connection with the NOR chip. So, I should position the wires where it would look like "E3 linker to NOR chip" before I solder them, so they won't have to bend and risk breaking right?
