Actually I went with the wii u basic... If I need the extra space I could always throw in 1 of my MANY flash drives laying around. Besides, don't see me really needing the space until they allow you to install games from the disc to hard drive. I'm not paying full retail price for a digital copy of anything (yes, new super mario bros U is the same price to download as a hard copy, who would do that!?), especially when a couple years down the road my console is going to get banned for homebrew anyway.

Other than the 32GB reason, there's also that the pricier edition is black which makes it look 'premium'.

The past white consoles of Nintendo and Sega suffered from going white to yellow, but the issue is now solved.

^ This is a US SNES console, one's white and one's yellowed.
