Hello to everybody, I have 80 gb fat Ps3 with RSOD. Downgrade it through E3 flasher. I can't get it to FSM, the notheros PUP in download section is gone, any other way to toggle my PS3 to FSM? thanks in advance.

what do you mean you cant get it to fsm? Did you put the donlge in and press power eject? If so, did it shut off by itself? If it was on rsod before the downgrade, it will still be rsod until you try to fix it, so it wont show any fsm display or anything. What dongle are you using? Let me guess....your 80 gb is a chechLxx model?

Hi, youre right about the dreaded "samsung" model and yes it was on RSOD ofw 4.21, downgraded it through E3 flasher with E3 usb (recovery mode update says 3.55 or above update) still RSOD, tried to update ofw 3.55 (bricked recovered by e3) and cfw 3.55 but it seems like its skipping starting from 41% to 100% update, RSOD on start up. Can't go to FSM with Lv2diag.self alone in order to run the fix, is that right? Do I need NOTHEROS PUP to succesfully update it? The PUP has been removed in download section (mediafire).

Let me make sure I got this right. So, you recovered the brick and now it is on 3.55 cfw? So does it ask for 3.55 now when you go to recovery menu? To get into fsm, you need to put the e3 card reader downgrade.bin in the upgrader folder of the e3 card reader USB. Then put it in the console and pull power completely, replace power, hit power then eject. Console should shut itself off, then put the rsod fix lvl2diag ona USB and put it on a blank USB and put in right USB port and turn on console. It should beep and then restart and boot up to regular ps3 menu. If it doesn't work, and the console asks for 3.55 when in recovery mode, then put the norsod.pup on a USB in the folders PS3/UPDATE and make sure the file is renamed to PS3UPDAT.PUP , and put it in the right USB port and click update. It will ask you to hit start select, follow the on screen instructions. After it updates, it should boot to regular ps3 menu, then you can install the .pkg fix and run it. Let me know if you need these files and I will upload them for you.

Hi, I have done this part correctly but still on RSOD upon booting, if you kindly upload the norsod pup and the .pkg fix, it would be awesome!

It says not to use it anymore, because people were keeping it installed.
That is why ps3devwiki says this:

Failure to install a proper firmware will further degrade hardware and corrupt flashregions until system permabricks beyond help.

Using notheros pup to bypass the red screen, so you can install the rsod fix pkg. Is the same thing as just using the lv2diag.self rsod fix.
So, most likely if the .self didn't work. The console has a bad nor chip.
