This is a stupid n00b question, and I've spent about 90min trying to figure it out. I just purchased a copy of Assassin's Creed III, understanding that I can patch the eboot and make it playable on 3.55.
Since I've got the disc, I don't really have (right now, anyway) any reason to back up the disc before applying the eboot patch fix.... But wondering -- can I play it from disc, or do i HAVE to back it up first? I'd be grateful to know -- I fell out of the scene back when 3.60+ games weren't playable, and am just know getting back into it. Thanks! |

Sadly, that answers my question. I was hoping it copied the files necessary to play by default and you just patched that.
Okay, cool -- so then, MultiMan 4.14.03 with 3.55 KMEAW, I just attach a big enough external drive, and rip the thing to it, then patch with the downloaded eboot patch files? |

@lordloki
If your disc is BLES01667 then you should try installing this update patch first.

Can you explain what you mean by that? I don't want to upgrade the firmware past 3.55 - is that what you mean?

Thanks so much for your help!! ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Well, oddly, if I use whatever I downloaded (https://cdn.anonfiles.com/1353173603808.rar) to replace the files on the usb copy, and then put the disc in, and go back to XMB to play from the disc, it yells at me that it needs to upgrade, but when I click cancel, it plays anyway! So, it would seem that I can play from the disc with whatever I've done. I'll try to play disc-less later, but for now, we're good! Thanks! ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Haha, yes, I understand that much, at least. I just didn't understand what he meant by "install any fixed update" for 3.55 and you can play from disc. Perhaps it is what I've done? Who knows, but we're working now! |
