hi all.. KMEAW 3.55 CFW installed at the moment.. I want to upgrade my HDD as well as update my firmware. My HDD contents are already archived to an external USB HDD.

Which would be the recommended procedure please:

1. run QA toggle
2. upgrade firmware from KMEAW 3.55 to Rogero CFW 4.30 (v2.03) with current HDD still installed
3. install new HDD
4. restore backup from external USB HDD

OR

1. run QA toggle
2. install new HDD
3. upgrade from KMEAW 3.55 to Rogero CFW 4.30 (v2.03)
4. restore backup from external USB HDD

Rip your original discs again and they will be fine, you didn't need to downgrade to go to v3 as far as I'm aware.

hi all ,sorry for this silly question , i have a ps3 slim 2504b running on CFW 3.55 kmeaw (never downgraded or even installed an other cfw ),i m confused whether to update to Rogero 4.30 v 2.03 , is there a risk of brick , if not what are the steps to follow ?

If I were you I would QA toggle + confirm it with button combo then:

The CFW can be installed fine from XMB Update over any OFW3.55/CFW3.55/CFW4.21/CFW4.30.

thanks mrc1978 and DEFAULTDNB - once I'd typed it out option 2 was looking like the best and most logical option to me as well. thank you for your advice, I'll post here how it went.

i thought i might give this one a go....installed from xmb on rebug rex 4.21 (spoofed to 4.31) ...straitforward install...looks stable..install pkg works great...no problems....this gets the harryoke seal of approval..
