[TIPS] Playing FPS

I always get the lowest kills and killed, for instance kills 5 and death 3. that is my average statistics in every COD games. I salute all other people out there with fascinating skills and fast ranked up. I don't know how they play it nicely, all I know if I met an enemy I just start to fire him but he's always faster than me. so I just sneaking around with my assault rifle for a very long time then I shot enemies from behind not dare enough to meet them face to face and the time is up. I'm the lowest scorer. would you give me some tips (not cheats) for playing FPS better? thank you

note: Rank 24 on COD Black Ops I, played since March 2012
Rank 43 on COD MW2, played since June 2012
Rank 40 on COD MW3, played since july 2012
Rank 10 on COD Black Ops II, played since it was released officially

Go to options and increase the "look sensitivity" to stay more aware of what's going on and helps when reacting in close quarters. Don't go too high, as it's less accurate to aim (I like 6 the best..).

Also, keep moving when you're fighting, makes you harder to hit. Crouching or laying down helps too, depending on the situation.

Watch compilations of best kills or whatever on youtube and pick up some ideas on how others do so well..

Also, having a well thought out "custom class" really helps, having bouncy betty + scavenger for example..

That's what I do anyway, hope it helps!

Here's one of the last games I played against veteran bots, now I'm on LiNK though.

scavenger is my favorite perks, does a device such Eagle Eye or any standard mouse and keyboard will help me playing this better?

For playing an fps better hmm... I got to say, nothing has helped me more than playing counter-strike, I guess with it being full of elitists. When you go from CS to another fps, all other fps seem easy. Of course they are totally different games, but you seem to be more aware of your surroundings, listening for footsteps, etc.

1) Move = Zig/Zag sometimes could be useful.
2) Listen = Vital to know if the enemy is near but if the guy have some *assassin* perk no use.
3) Check where your team mates got killed and check that area.
4) If your team get outnumbered just go with the flow and try to score.

There's no magic recipe for that.
Yeah there are *Tricks* like CS times bunny jump (or something like that)

Practice is the key.

movement and your sensitivity settings is vital. it may be hard at first but turn it up at least half way. also fight the recoil on the gun, and or add perks/attachments that will help with the stability of the shot.

Practice makes perfect. I'll be happy to practice with you and give you pointers. I too when I first started, started out getting killed more than I was getting kills. I remember I was doing 3 kills 17 deaths. Now, my kill ratio is over 1:1 sometimes 3:1. In mw2, I've gotten the nuke over 5 times, I did a lot of camping though. I have back ops 1&2, mw2&3. I prefer playing mw3 online. My psn is the same as my username here. Add me and we'll practice

Maybe I could give some PC FPS tips, I think some of them are valid for console play.

- Moving continuously.
- Configure the sensitivity to be able to give a 180 degrees turn with a single motion (to get rid of enemy players shooting at you from behind)
- Train your reflexes. There are sites on the net with reflex training. Perhaps its possible to create a trainer that is compatible with gamepads.
- Crouch usually means stop moving or moving slowly. avoid it.
- Jump facilitate the calculation of predict for the adversary. The opponent will shoot where you will fall
- Again, train reflexes and find the optimal sensitivity.
- If possible, turn off any kind of chat. The chat can help on teamplay, but disrupts concentration. If you're playing solo, turn off the chat and music.
- Stay calm. More tense, worse is your aim, concentration and reflexes. Adrenalin ****s the accuracy, serenity is aways good.
- Train the predict. Learn where the opponent will be before it is in place. See orientation he takes, the direction, speed and weapon he uses. Predict is extremely important in any FPS.

I used to be banned from servers playing UT99/UT2k4 and being confused with a cheater. Currently I spend my time playing TF2 and being called bad names on brazilian servers xD

*Switch your button settings to tactical... everyone complains about drop shotting but it piles on my kills and lowered my deathrate.
*Try play in a full party(with headsets) when possible.
*^^^ Communication is key for FPS team modes
*Use a launcher(Stinger) rather than machine pistols/ hand guns for your secondary weapon.
*If you love to run 'n gun then you'll want to use steady aim perk/laser sight attatchment on a sub machine gun
*Take UAV and other aerial killstreaks out ASAP!
*If someones camping use flash grenades in that vicinity, then run out and kill em
*Silencers = "No see me" on mini map
*Try using minimap more
*Use killstreaks that you are comfortable at achieving
*If you want to rank up fast, try finishing challenges on the weapons you are comfortable with using(Stinger challenges are real simple at finishing)
*Watch killcams to see how bad you are actually lagging EG. If your killcam shows you fire only one bullet before being killed, even though you remember firing half your clip at someones face before dying then you're screwed for the match. If thats the case slow your gameplay right down and try flanking the enemy rather than heading for chokepoints and big gun fights that you will surely lose.
*Practice against bots to find the sensitivty that suits you best

PS If you're in the Australasian Region, we can party up on Mw3 or BO2.
