I've got a question here(e3). I have had a brick from failed qa flagged ofw installation.
Today i soldered a sbe-> motherboard and made a flashfun restore with 1up rest down on e3. I used my patched bkpps3.bin, like in this tutorial. But the problem is, when i start my ps3 after this debrick i'm already on 3.55. I was expecting "connect to controller screen" So my question now is, how to safe get into a kmeaw 3.55 cfw?
Or are there any better cfw out now, without a big risk to brick. because i'm not that good at soldering.

You must of flashed a backup from when you were on 3.55?

Anyway, follow the guide from the spoiler Qa Flag.

And instead of Kmeaw, I would suggest Rogero 4.30 v2.03.

I went Kmeaw first to dehash first.

Then upgraded to Rogero 4.30 v2.03 or whatever his last one was that just came out.

Was covering my ass.

I have a question, and forgive me if this is a dumb question. I have my e3 flasher installed (just waiting for my Kingston Micro SD card to come in the mail since the flasher is too dang picky), but as a result of the installation, the power button on my PS3 won't work (funnily enough the eject button still works @_@). My question is: Will this be a problem? I know the Downgrade steps involve turning the power on and off a lot, but I can just use my controller to turn it on, right???

What model # is your PS3?

If it is a phat model, just turn the power on with the cover off.
If it is a slim, you may have to replace the ribbon or board. Because you will have to press power then eject to enter Factory/Service mode.

I don't think it will work by powering on with the controller then hit eject. You know, I never tried though. It might.

It's a Slim CECH-2001A. Well, crap. I already replaced the ribbon and it still wouldn't work so, yeah, I'll have to order a new board.

Okay, forget everything I said! I went to check the board to make sure of the model board and suddenly the power button now works! Talk about serendipity! :D Now all I need is my Kingston MSD and I'm all set!

You can probably find one by searching on Google.

But I use this site, because they take PayPal. CLICK HERE

@Buzzright I would borrow some micro SD cards from family/friends to test first before buying a new E3 coverboard. Also check E3 Flasher to make sure it's not a clone.
Assuming you have not already done so that is.

Is a 128MB microSD enough to make dumps with the E3 Flasher? I'm all set with a 128MB one? Thanks

PS: To the OP: In your Tutorial, you could specify the minimum microSD capacity required
