Sony decided to carry on with the Playstation otherwise all that money they invested in the tech would be wasted, it was so close to completion. They also believed CD was the way forward because it was cheaper & had more storage then the cartridges.

Nintendo basically shot themselves in the foot, the Playststion was awesome, although I did enjoy my N64 too.
Yea they sure did. Shared so much technology and information that they did "create/build" there own opponent. When Sony stood there with all info and a half finished console and Nintendo had to restart from scratch Sony took the shoot and it was a hit. Nintendo around the same time were making plans with philips and that also ended in a gaming console (CD-I) well hard to say gaming console since it did every thing else better then just playing games (were a good film player and cd player). But Philips also got some rights to make Mario and Zelda games that ended horribly.

Who knows if Nintendo didn't make these mistakes with Sony and Philips maybe this forum would be DC3hax instead. (Remeber Dreamcast? DC for short)

The Dreamcast was very under rated.
Shenmue was amazing, but they didn't release the 3rd & final episode so I hate Saga now

Yah bruh, SO many problems with today's games. Everything's either an FPS or TPS, too much middleware, publishers replacing unlockables with DLC and achievements, tacked-on multiplayer, no more split-screen, mandatory installs, copy-protected savedata... It's why I stopped buying games.
