for e3linker/soldering i can't comment..as u dumped with e3clip yesterday it must have come loose anyhow that's why it bricked = bad e3clip connection on of the pins..ur dump is valid so that is not the cause of the problem, recheck all connections is all i can tell u

"dump the modified FW" what u mean with that, u have used a "patched OFW dump" with all switches down? then going by freakalhemist..he unbricked restoring the patched dump 2x after eachother, see i never had a brick like this so in a way i'm guessing there. important is after fixing the tristate wire, that u REDUMP first making sure the e3clip is in place cuse it get's u nowhere...this is so many times posted it's getting silly for us u know don't take any offense in it but it's really important and saves alot of unbrick time later on as really i had only one brick..the first...fixed it..and then told myself..this sucker isn't gonna play with my balls...it's just we doing things to fast...the clipping of the e3flasher is most important..after that unbricking should be easy....and always try using the DUMP from wich u bricked on first.so i would try flashing the OFW dump first, if it doesn't boot after that, the ROS0/1(firmware coreos on norflash) is corrupt and get's overwritten anyways..so first try OFW dump, otherwise use a prepatched 355coreos dump, see above note how the other guy fixed it(= 2x restoring patched dump) if someone can confirm would be great, always do things at ur own risk, not that i'm talking out of my ass here but each brick well they are not the same but with a valid dump&100% fitted e3 unbrick should work always, then again there are many unbrick guides/ways so i can't say for sure...maybe @playerkp420 or someone can jump in on this |

You can flash your original backup and reboot the PS3. Then you will be unbricked on whatever firmware you were before you bricked. Since you didn't complete the downgrade, you don't have a CFW 3.55 backup to flash. So that won't work. Or you can flash the patched backup and continue with downgrade steps. I always like to flash the original valid backup first. Just to start fresh.

Ok, i decided to just continu with the E3 flasher clip, i will unbrick using Original Dump and by soldering SBE from the E3 Flasher board cause i don't want to damage the Flat Wire. I will try with only electric tape as i will only get soldering iron tomorrow.
i will put tape all around the Nor tristate spot to make sure it doesnt touch anything else then tape a wire on that spot and had presure to keep it in place cause i am impatient lol worth a try a guess. Think it would work ? Last edited by JohnnyBoyQC; 12-06-2012 at 08:14 PM. |

yes..check out that guide in the downgrade section...take ur time and dont strip the wire to long, just a 1mm is enough, get good transparant sticky tape and use Tristate to any GND point...handle it like u handle a woman, although they like it rough some times
this needs a soft though but if done correct it works and no messing arround with solder if u can't properly solder, for that u must really practice first on old stuff, it isn't hard either but ofcourse it needs good material12watt iron with pencil point (Weller WM12) 60/40 Griffon PRINT 0.7 mm a 26-28AWG wire this also works really good and don't heat the pad to long, it goes really quik and have a steady hand, try the nonsolder way u be suprised popsktoy..did i spell that right ... also did it and it works fine......do stuff at ur own risk ofcourse ![]() goodluck again

Wow wow wow wait hare a min. the way i thought i was going to do is by soldering all 52/53 Pin's the the MB and on the E3 Linker. you telling me when i downgrade using flash-fun mode i have to reopen my PS3 and de-solder all 5 GND Points + the Tristate? i thought you can leave everything soldered in as a one time trip. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* and jeeze my E3 Kit + downgrade don-gal with E3 card reader comes in 2-3 days of purchase and the 20cm Tinned 100 pack wired from china is taking more then a week? better get hare some time next week. (hope it get's hare b4 Christmas and not halted due to school holidays) ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* some 1 give me a clear answer hare. my plan was to leave everything soldered on, downgrade the thing and leave the E3 Flasher in there permanently and leaving the PS3 HDD contented to the E3 SATA dock 4 ever (should i use the E3 SATA Dock or buy a better one?) @the_lost_soul
i'm talking about the E3 clip+ unbrick methos = Tristate to SBE point on E3 flasher ribbon or Tristate to any GND point on the motherboard, when using a GND point instead, it keeps halting the system on boot wich we need for unbricking..using flashfun flip switch UP, the E3 flasher is ofcourse made like that so one can leave the wire in place, it's only for GND point on MB and for the E3linker wich is the alternate e3 way via soldering all those points like Progskeet/Teensy, i'm sure u can leave it in there also just like the Teensy etc.....maybe it needs an GND point wire removed after...but i never used the E3 linker/all solderpoints co not sure there...there are people onboard that have used it so try searching for that or the wiki may have the info.. |
