i don't understand what is a "self selector". can you (or @sandungas ) explain it better?
Yup, is this type of eboot.bin's that works as a "main menu" (they load "resource" from a compressed file, like the background image, texts for each option of the menu, a font, images for buttons, music, etc)

Are used in the "demo discs" and in several retail games... the thing that has in common is you can "launch" several different .self's from the menu (each button in the main menu loads a different .self)
Used in all this games that are a collection of several PS2 games "remastered"... or in games like "the orange box" that contains all the half-life games, etc...

-------------
About the "SFO test tool"... there is a bug when opening the "XMB in-game" (with PS button) the menu is not visible, and sometimes the PS3 crashes
I think we tolk about this and you said it was an error of the graphic NO-RSX library ?, can you fix it now that your library is more advanced ?

Also, i suggest to use another message on screen to something more "generic" like:
EBOOT.BIN loaded
Press X to quit

And the name of the app... hmmm, maybe something like "PS3Content Test Tool" ?

Thank you SO much. I definitely prefer the standalone emulators (more features). Thank you for doing this! Any chance on a patched version of MAME?

The "main menu selector" is the eboot.bin... the other files that are part of the menu can be in a subfolder (or a compressed folder), is different in each game, the game can have also another folder/s with all the .self's that are linked from the main menu

I wrote a bit about the basic boot of the game "the orange box" here ---> http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/PARAM...ATA_LIST_PARAM

If you still having this bug dont worry for the app, no point in wasting time in the app if cant be completly fixed yet

Great share! This is the only version of VBA I can find that actually runs Gameboy titles full screen! The newer version seem to shrink it. Thanks again!

Good hearing from you =) I actually wound up finding MAME after a little searching. I appreciate your offer, though, and your efforts on this thread. I'm really enjoying 4.30!
