hi to all,,i have a really strange problem with this console and cannot work it out,,
i received this console from my freind in uk ,,console had never been tampered with and it is just about new condition,,
now for the drama ,,whae i first tried it there were no dramas with it,,i wrapped it up with the intentions of storing it as a collector as it was that good,,
after about 3 months i set it up to test it and it would not play bluray or games (typical fault),, so i then ordered a new laser ,,fitted it ,tested it all ok ,,i then packed it away again ,,,couple of months later ,,tested it again with the intensions of selling it,,
quess what ,no read on bluray or games,,so ordered anpther new laser,,fitted it and it read the bluray disc an then came up with a fault that it needed an update to play bluray,,i checked on net and this fault fix came up with something to do with the 2000 year date ,,so i reloaded f/ware (3.41 ) back into console and done all the usual mumbo jumbo,,,went to test the console again and no read at with any media,,,so i then ordered another laser ,,fitted it and all it comes up with now is 80010514 fault,,now this has something to do with a corrupted file ,,i have tried several times to reload pup file with no luck of fixing the fault,,
next i decided to change the h/drive ,,now with this change when i install another h/drive the console does not ask me to either format it or do any of the normal things a ps3 should do when changing h/drive ,,it never asks for the update file at all ,,i fit the drive and console will start normal as it should ,,but it still will not play discs ,,,i am at a loss with this now ,,i even put console on 3.55 and no change ,,,
need some help ,,
also on the early f/wares are they install on motherboard or in drive

I would have someone fix it for you . If you never open up one before and break any of the connectors you sol.

i have been repairing these things for a long time ,,it is not my first one ,,,i did open it to replace laser ,,cannot do it without opening ,,no broken cables or clips ,,it just keeps screwing up lasers and doing stupid things with faults ,,,it reads them when first fitted ,but on bluray it will load the disc from xmb then it comes up with error code ,,on games it reads it goes to start then comes up with that code ,,if you go into hidden menu and do all the restore file system it keeps saying that the h/drive is corrupted ..then when you put the disc in after you do all what you are told to do it does same thing,,it has just got me beat ,,,out of about 150 repairs this is the only time it has happened to me ,,all other repairs have gone on without any dramas at all
