PS3 backup compatibility list says it does work from external so I could be wrong about the external thing, sorry about that.

I suppose you could try deleting game data/updates then installing latest update and see if that takes you anywhere?

Could also try fixing permissions on it.

its alright. and I've tried that already, actually did that first before backing the game for second time and it STILL didn't work.

so right now im extracting ALL psarc files, just extracting the pak23 gave me a blackscreen (worse than what I was stuck with) so im extracting ALL psarc files to see if that would work. I also remember hearing about something related to the bin and bindc1 folder, where you have to rename bindc1 to "dc1" and move that folder into the bin folder. im gonna try that too.

EDIT: IT WORKED!!!! ....atleast passed the spinning ring of death, title screen and played a bit of the first part. takes a bit to load like about 2-5 mins but its still worked! what I wrote above earlier explains what I did earlier. it worked even without BD mirror option.

Awesome! Can you post a little mini tutorial step-by-stem on what you did? How you extracted the psarc files etc? I would also like to try this. Congratz btw!

What I wrote earlier when i said it worked, thats basically the tutorial.

step 1: extract ALL PSARC files. I've used the PSARC.EXE from this site's download section

step 2:you should have from the pak23.psarc files some folders, the two you wanna check out is the "bin" folder, and the "bindc1" folder. Rename the "bindc1" folder to "dc1" (without quotes) and then move THAT folder into the "bin" folder.

thats it. and now im trying to get shadow of the colossus HD to work in my external harddrive...which is being a huge ***** right now.

In chateau, after getting blue and white screen, cannot continue.
When reloading save game I get the rotating ring forever.
Even of using original disk.
Will this psarc recipe solve also this issue ?

I have the original disk and remade a backup to my internal hdd.
Now it is working just great !!!
Dont know why it didn't work the first time but now it's solved.
