But it's a bit weird when after 5-8 hours of GT5, it doesn't get too loud, but it's pretty hot on the heat sink. I think the fan shifts to "2nd gear" only. But I would like it to go full speed and get rid off the extra heat. Even if that is the "normal" temp. for it to operate, I would be nice for fan to go berserk, I don't mind the noise, TV is loud enough to cover it.

Because I like to do stuff the right way.
I don't want to risk an OVEN fix. Since it will probably mess it up worse. I have done a couple oven fixes in the past. Some go good, some don't. I want to heat up just the RSX chip. Maybe even reball it, so it will be more of a permanent fix. I don't want to cook the whole board. If you get in the habit of cooking your motherboard like a pizza, you won't have a working PS3 anymore.

When in MultiMan, go to Settings, and then at the bottom of the list is Temperature gadgdet, you will see, and then it displays temps in clock area.

Been a fatarse since 2008
My drive may be failing though. Seems to whirrrr really loud when there's a DVD in the drive. PSX/PS3 games are fine though, no loud whirrr's.

I still use my old 60GB ...... as a doorstop.
Been holding my doors open perfectly since it died in Oct 2010.

Still using my CEChA01 60g release model 2006 with CFW 4.30 v2.03 rogero and CECHG01 OFW 4.25 2008 40g never had a problem hope they stay alive for another year
