ps3 technical question

I got a few questions related to if its possible for me to jailbreak my ps3,

What model number is your PS3?
CECHG04

What firmware is your PS3 on?
3.70

Are you running CFW?
No, but i jailbreaked this console when the jb 3.5x orso first came out, then i upgraded becous i couldnt play online anymore

Is your console bricked?
no

Have you ever downgraded your console with hardware flashers? (Teensy, ProgSkeet, E3 Flasher, etc...)
I had jailbreaked my ps3 with a jailbreak package on my own USB stick that was downloadable somewhere, but very hard to find a valid one.

Have you tried searching the forum for someone experiencing the same problem before posting?
Yes, a bit;
my idea was to reset my ps3 to factory mode, then the fw would be on 1.90 or 2.30. then find the 3.55cfw and install it again with my usb stick.
would this work?

Describe your problem:
I dont know how to reset it to factory mode or where i can find a valid 3.55 cfw copy

You can find OFW 3.55 in the downloads section on this very site but you are going to need a hardware downgrader and a downgrade/FSM dongle for your PS3 now you are on 3.70 OFW.

CECHGxx 0x05 SEM-001 2x 128MB NAND 40GB No Yes No No Yes 65nm 90nm 160/280 2 No 10/2007 1.94 1.90 or 2.30
= progskeet or teensy++ is required for NAND.

Your PS3 wont factory revert back to its original FW. It will just reset any settings on the latest FW you have on it, in this case 3.70.

I also saw it was possible to downgrade from 4.20 to 3.55; would it be better if i could find the official 4.20 and downgrade from that to 3.55? (i think i saw a tutorial about this)
You either need to buy a dongle, or you can re-purpose an old ipod/iphone/android phone using rockbox/PSgrade/PSfreedom.

No you cant downgrade without hardware.

The tutorials for 4.xx to 3.55 "downgrader.pup" is for downgrading 4.xx CFW not OFW.

im on 3.7 ofw, if i would buy this dongle would i also have to install this NAND programmer and the injectus?

if so would that chip have to remain in the ps3 or is it just for the installation of the cfw?

That guide will work for you as it is a NAND guide, and yes you will have to install the progskeet to your PS3, follow that guide and you should be bang on.

@baileyscream knows his stuff

So one progskeetv1.2 + injectus is only good for 1 compatible ps3?
thats more expensive then i tought ^^.
so just to be sure here i need a progskeet v1.2 Full kit (progskeetv1.2 + injectus ), A dongle, and a compatible USB stick, and some worktools. am i forgetting something?
maybe the NAND clip (360-clip) to connect the injectus with the progskeet idk?

@Sky-High , don't know where you are from, but you could consider to have the downgrade done by a member, there are some uk based here, and a usa one i think.

if you don't have any soldering experience you probably should look for a downgrade service.

I'm from belgium and dont worry about that, I'm an elektrician; I have soldered many times before but i must admit i think it will be a challenge, good exercise i guess.

I need to know what stuff/electronics i need to buy before i can start.
could someone pls check if what i mentioned in the previous post is all the stuff required for the NAND downgrade and if i need that 360 nand clip too, its not really clear to me what I need just for the NAND downgrade.

and when the ps3 is downgraded, does the progskeet need to stay inside the ps3 or could i use it again for another playstation?

I havent googled it yet but would anyone recommend a thrustworthy service/webshop to buy my dongle from?

Thanks for the help so far,
greets
