I'm Not exactly a fan of the FF> 10 fighting system, but the same can be said about any FF and most eastern RPGs. You can also finish FFVII with the same X (or O) button. The difference is that you use pre-configurations (paradigms) and dont have to select each action for each character durign fights.

Anyway, I'd like to see the old turn-based system back.

There is 2 ways you can find what happens after the countdown.

One is hack the countdown to end and find the lines inside the code via a HEX editor.

The second is if you have access to Square Enix's FTP server (you need a whitelisted IP) among the rest stuff they are secretly working, you can see the whole html, xml and jpg contents of that thing.

Long story short, nothing groundbreaking for Square Enix doing a whole reveal at a so specific date (12.12.12) like it's one of their bigest IPs that deserve such huge attention but still looks intresting. Except a video too. Oh, one of the posts already guessed what it is.

Not gonna happen ever, Square Enix abandoned that system of fighting finding it bleak for new generation systems, the closest thing you will get for that is the fighting system of The Last Remnant.
