heatguns can work well for personal fixes. it all depends on the preparation/insulating of surrounding components and if good quality flux/compound is used
i thought about getting a proper station a while back when i was getting offered 360/ps3 consoles for free every week, but i have no interest in the business side of fixing so it would be wasted on me
