Firstly thanks to all the guys putting tutorials on here as I've used a lot over the last couple of years, but I'm slightly confused on the e3 flasher downgrade process.

I have installed the e3 flasher on my 4.11 ps3, sucessfully taken several NOR dumps, and want to progress with the downgrade process.

Tutorials state that you should use a downgrade dongle, which I believe is just to reboot into factory service mode? So do the downgrade dongles do anything more than that, and is there a FSM dongle vs a downgrade dongle or is that one thing? Or is there a way to put the PS3 into FSM with something other than or a dongle/PSP like iphone etc?

I've got a PSP Go and I'd heard ps3jig could put your ps3 into FSM but I think as the PSP go is on 6.xx ps3jig won't work. Anybody else had success with ps3jig on a Go?

OK, so whilst continuing to hunt I've finally understood these dongles were originally intended for more but now just used for putting the ps3 into FSM.

Having initially not even been able to run PS3Jig, I updated my PSP to the latest 6.60 Pro CFW and was able to run PS3Jig. I plugged it into the console when required to put it into FSM, and the PSP screen showed it was sucessful but the PS3 still just booted to the connect a controller screen.

I ended up hunting round for a couple of hours and finding an old X3Max dongle, flashed it with the downgrader bin file and used that to put the PS3 into service mode and everything seems to have worked OK, just finishing the process now. PS3Jig sounds great but just needs some improvements I guess.

I have X3max 3 USB dongle. Where do I get the bin file?
