Guttered about NZBMatrix, used it a lot and donated a fair bit to over the years.

As a usenet provided I used AstraWeb from day one, then when Dark Knight Rises was removed from Astra in minutes of appearing I moved to SSL-News

No issues with them what so ever, fairly cheap - coupons can be found online. Dutch servers I believe, but the money goes to the Cayman Islands

SSL-News even had a copy of Hunger Games, which is impossible to find - Matrix wouldn't even allow you to index it.

Indexing providers:

Signed up for NZBs.in today - pretty impressed BUT really slow due to a lot of Matrix users moving there (they even state this on the news page)

Feel free to PM me if you need any more info

Well usually usenet only has like a 90 day retention... but yeah, I usually get everything on day 1 or within the week.

Dude I live in the UK in a non cable area - bluray would take a week to download haha.

When the R6/chinese cam version was out everyone on the matrix was saying it was removed from Astra, Giganews etc.. So maybe your the lucky one ;-)

If there wasn't so much content removal I'd have defiantly stayed with them, Xbox 360 games were also disappearing fast off AstraWeb - just text files rather than the actual .rars

Wished I'd signed up to different 'back up' indexers. All the big ones are now closing membership signups due to traffic....... What to do?

I'm bummed about NZBMatrix going down too. I used it almost daily. If anyone has any spare invites to some of the top indexing sites, feel free to toss me a PM.

DMCA takedowns usuaully don't affect stuff less than a couple of weeks old. If you're with a top tier provider like Giganews, they can take stuff down within an hour or two of release.

Most stuff I download is in the 500 day+ range, most PS3 stuff is that old two, rarely will you find - even the top games - get uploaded again once they've been posted.

If you take Final Fantasy XIII for example, there is no way to download that from Usenet successfully, there's the release from "Fighter1982", but it's too damaged on all providers to reapair with the pars provided.

Sony are really aggressive with this kind of stuff, inparticular.

A kind person, pm'd me to offer advice on downloading something, I appreciate the pm but please people this isn't a request for help. I don't solicit advice for downloading pirated material. I'm just discussing the situation...actually ended up signing up for a trial rental service to get FFXIII again...it was that difficult to get, and I'm not happing around on pirate bay with a 100-1 seeder/leech ratio for this crap downloading at 10kb/s thanks.
