i think my screwed up my E3 flasher with the update.bin file.... if flash it back on i wonder if it will still work

aka i think i bricked the E3 Flasher

the one i downloaded from the site is this one : 2011.11.22 upgrade - does 3 bios back ups.
there is this one also : 2012.01.05 update - but it is for dual boot i don't want it
and there is this one : 2011.10.14 upgrade - an older one i found some were on the ps3devwiki.

but is there a difference as you can see there is files named "update" and "upgrade" maybe this were I'm going wrong

but the actual file name is update.bin for all of them

and yea i have E3 Clip on now with tristate soldered on fully secured equal pressure.

using the 2011.11.22 upgrade file

to update the E3 Flasher i get 8 glowing blue lights

but then the guide tells me to press the button underneath the cable
and it says the 0 lights suppose to be on but i get 1 glowing blue light and it's the 7th one = 00000010

i really don't get what I'm doing wrong hare i can't even upgrade the E3 Flasher! and on reboot i get those 4 glowing Christmas light motion. usaly when you turn it on it suppose to be 0 lights on besides the power and the green ones - no blue but i get 4 blue.

This is all done with the E3 Clip now and there is nothing wrong with the clip.

now when i try to back up i get 10001110 = Failed to erase PS3 BIOS and its not even erasing it's suppose to back up - this makes no sence

this is the same log i am getting from the clip that from the E3 linker:
start logging...
backup PS3 BIOS.
fail to initialize PS3 BIOS.

start logging...
backup PS3 BIOS.
fail to initialize E3 Nor.

after the upgrade of 2011.10.14 upgrade then bios update and i get that log

so what is all this is the E3 NOR Flasher the thing in the HDD Slot Fried? MB is fine Clip is fine I'm Guessing in the E3 NOR Flasher is totaled

if you get the 00000010 error when you re-set the e3 then just re-start the ps3
wait until you boot to xmb or wait 1-3 min for the ps3 to try to boot then try to back up.
if you still get the error then the clip is probably not on correctly or you dont have enough presure on the clip.
if you have a laptop see if you have one of them fake sd cards in the sd card slot.
i have found these to be the perfect thickness to put on the clip and under the heatsink (fan).

if you still get errors then try soldering tristate on the ps3 board to sbe on the clips ribbon then use flashfun switch up during the whole guide upto the downgrade with fsm.

well i did use your update.bin still same problem.

i did solder on tristate - still same problems

(i recon i will still get the 4 blinking lights without the clip plugged in)

i do have a Macbook Pro but i don't have any of those fake Sd Cards

maybe if i cut my eraser down to size and stick that in

some 1 told me on the E3 Forums to stack up 8 coins on top of it.

well in 5 hours from now after i back up my system for sage keeping, i will try some of your methods.

and well I'm not to sure but it looks like i will have to do this. is it ok to keep the PS3 out of the plastic case as long the 2 Metal boxes seal the MB in, the Fan plugged in, the BD-Rom Plugged in, the Power and HDD. - but all out of the case.

Maybe because this thread is not for validating dumps. It is for questions toy might have while following this guide.

There is a thread to post your dumps, if u want someone to double check them. Search for it.

Sorry I can't check any dumps right now. I am out of town for work and I didn't bring my laptop. I can't do it on my phone. Unless there is an android Hxd app, and flowrebuilder. Lol.

check the E3 site to see if you have a fake E3

During the downgrade process with my e3 flasher, the step 1 files failed to copy based on the green light that keeps blinking. I was getting the connect the controller to usb screen. I then tried to do the step 2 process thinking everything would still be go. According to Bailey's guide, I was to (remove the E3 Flasher and re-build your ps3). Once I did this part and turned on the PS3, I got nothing. The system turned on and in about 10 secs, it cut off. Can this be reversed??? And if so how? Do I need to reconnect e3 flasher? Thanks in advance for any help.

are you in the downgrade via fsm part?

or did you get the error before this part?
