i think i successfully decrypted resident evil 6 save game.
i am able to find my skill points with a hex editor.

however, modification seems to be more difficult.
every time after i make changes and re-encrypt the file, the game complains the save data is damaged..

i either encrypted it wrong.. or there is checksum / data verification that needs to be dealt with..

here's my question.. what's the difference between the "update" modes of pfdtool? how do i know which one to choose?

Mr. flatz, after last post, i went back to read the introduction and try decrypt some savefiles.

Indeed, if the disc_hash_key is valid, the savefiles can be decrypted. I take the GT5 as an example, game id was BCAS20108, esia version. The tools works, including different regions.

But from upstairs, i got that someone had decrypted the game savedata whose disc key didn't list in the game.conf.(just like the RE6). then i was totally confused.

Is the disc key essential to savedata decrypting

No, as I already said many times, disc hash key is used only to hash the content of PARAM.SFO and not to decrypt files. And it is not checked by PS3.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had any games that don't seem to work with the secure file id dumper?

Modern Warfare 2 (BLUS30377) doesn't seem to have any in-game issues, but the dumped .bin is always 0 bytes. The game is creating saves just fine, I only tried campaign mode though, I might try one of the mp modes.

EDIT - my cod4 error seems to be unrelated

Modern Warfare (BLUS30072) doesn't load at all beyond some bizarre error screen I've never seen before. This happens even without running one of the loaders so I assume the game is not liking the modules used.

It won't be a problem to bruteforce a few games I just thought it was interesting, if there is any way I can give more info I will.

Sorry, I'm a noob at this level of tinkering.

I have a Resistance 3 save that I downloaded and I want to make it compatible with my account. Can anyone explain to me, or point me in the direction of some tutorial on how to make this happen? Thanks.
