Please let me know if there is anything I missed. I had used ZombieKillah patches before and they worked everytime. Unfortunately, not on Borderland 2 v1.02.

Thanks for the help.
I am using the same patch as you & played for over a hour. There must be something else, like is your game back up (param.sfo) edited to ver 03.40 .? ( If your back up is on external ,make sure you do not have a PS3_GAME folder outside of your GAMES/GAMEZ it happens from multiman & can cause a error not sure in your case. I can not think of any other reason being i am using same one & i only edited my param.sfo being the game fix only needs a eboot.bin so that narrows any other possibility of a non fixed/or bad self/sprx.

If you did edit your param you may want to x2 check that .

Thank you for your reply, ZombieKIllah. You've made good patches. I applied your patch on several games prior this, and everyone was successful. Your patch is installable so I didn't edit param.sfo.

I erased everything and re-did the steps:
The game was copied into internal HDD (check no GAMES/GAMEZ dir), download update: BLUS30982_[UPDATE_01_PS3FW_04.1000]_VER01.02 thru MM04.14. Then apply the patch.

The message I got this time was: "The game data is corrupted. The game will close.You must delete the game data to play this game."

Game setting shows ver 13.37 (FW 3.40). Any ideas?

Does anyone else have the same error?

Thanks again.

@mercurius8

Yeah try my update fix ^_^ , zombiekillah customises his patches so people don't accidentally update there game updates on a 355 machine with one that signed for 420+

My borderlands 2 thread ^_^ give it shot, if it don't work pm me bro or tag me in post on my thread
http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=45232

Nobody on 3.4 - 3.55 cfw has had issues yet with mine. Not trying to over hype mine more then @ZOMBIEKILLAH cause he is one that got me hooked in this patch addiction LOL. Give mine a go and report back ^_^

If still don't work I'm sure we can figure this out fir ya :+)

@JonahUK

I hope this info was helpful ^_^ and thanks for flagging me down to help him ^_^

Yes it shows FW 340 in multiman that is my patch + version 13.37. The thing you did not mention yet is did you edited your BLUSXXXX-[Borderlands 2] \PS3_GAME PARAM.SFO from 04.2100 to 03.4000 that is the param.sfo to edit ,not my patch param. If you did not edit your param.sfo & it says 04.2100 then that is why your game will not run. MultiMAN did this Automatically after a user prompt.

If i am correct i remember deank removed param.sfo prompt check in multiman after CFW 430/421 was released .Multiman stopped prompting the user to automatically changed the param.sfo to 03.5500.Now i think that is back but i don't know what version multiman you are using. Upload your DISC/BACKUP "PARAM.SFO" from your Borderlands 2 game = Send me a link. I bet anything it says 04.2100

Everyone over at ps3repack is using my eboot from same patch i helped my friend there PropJoe with BLES fix.

Now you had posted you installed ?BLUS30982_[UPDATE_01_PS3FW_04.1000]_VER01.02 ? If you are on CFW 355 that is official & will never work.

@snkysnake02 I am positive his PARAM.SFO is not changed or something is wrong with it.He did not mention he changed the backup param.sfo .He mentioned my patch param.sfo he can not edit cause it is in a package "Well he already made a mistake thinking i was talking about my param.sfo from the patch". He should know which one i was speaking of "His disc param.sfo". If he used my patches before then he should know my patch never needs editing. I bet anything his param.sfo says ver 04.2100 on Borderlands 2 param from his PS3_GAME folder .So may people still never look at the the PS3_GAME param.sfo, i just do not get why.

The param from backups are the the first thing i check for every game .

@ZOMBIEKILLAH

even if it was a clean copy and all he did was use the fixed update for 3.55, there should be no need to check the param or eboot in the backup itself ^_^

Im fairly certain that with a fixed update for 355 users can just install that and wam bam thank you mam. Least thats how its working over at my thread.

Honestly I think he should just delete all stuff Borderlands 2 on ps3 ( except his save file if he has one ) and re-copy game to the external and use either of our update fixes that way everything is clean, then see if he has same problem.
************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
Also if you look up his error its this :

0x80028F10 "You cannot play this game at the current video output setting (80028F10)"
This occurs because the game you are trying to play will only work at 16:9 resolution, and your PS3 is set for 4:3 resolution. 2 solutions:
1) Go to Display Settings then HDMI (or whatever your connection is) and choose Automatic; -or-
2) Go to Display Settings and under select Video Display Output: select Composite or S-Video, whichever type of connection you use. Then choose 16:9 Resolution.

O.o thats odd cause I play BL2 on standard and HD tvs O.o

If he does not have a spoof above 420 or 420 then the param.sfo will stop the game from starting up, regardless of any patch fix installed that has been changed. That is why so may people use a 999 spoof. The game disc still need it. Try playing Black ops from disc with no spoof & watch what happens. It will ask to update using the PUP on Disc & if you decline = no play = no start game.

The people who tell others to use a spoof never say what it really does so the person who has no spoof does not understand ,it is a simple param.sfo edit & no spoof is needed if they just edit it. They just tell the most people that it will be fine & the ps3 will not ask to update to a higher FW & you can play the game,etc.

Black ops 2 supports as low as 480p that is why Black ops II works by the way .If there is one game i know it is the Call of Duty series.

Hi, ZombieKillah,

Just want to share some good news - per your PM direction, the param.sfo was changed to 3.4000 and other steps, the Borderland 2 v1.02 is working now with your patch.. hooray!..

Thank you very much for your help.

Thank you also snkysnake02 for your insight on the error message.

Best regards,
Mercurius8
