That is what i meant, have it downgraded by someone who has done it & has good success .To me it is worth it to pay for the service & knowing i do not have to worry about making a mistake. If someone does it all the time or many times ,it just makes more sense to let them do it if they are good at it. To me we both win ,we pay them a little cash for there service & we get what we want.

If people can afford to pay that is what i would do. I do not have the patience ,if i had to i would. My reason, i was cursed in my early 20s with constant back pain "never goes away". It would only interfear forcing me to take many breaks, prolonging the downgrade. Everyone has good reason to have someone do it. I think #1, is fear = losing there PS3 over complications / mistakes = "No recovery".

Like you said you had problems in your case & you gave up I would be pissed if that happened to me. If you had sent it to someone, it would saved you a headache & probably be working & cost you about the same. Now your spending more & that sucks.

Not true, I got my 160 gb slim a year or so ago from a local pawnshop on fw 3.50, came with everything even the box for 150$. Owner played 1 game on it according to the trophy history.

The part in red , exactly a year or so ago .I like to see someone find one that easy now for that price. My friend found one the other day at a pawnshop & it was crap $75 bucks ,like most would find at a pawn shop Broken BD drive & who knows what else is wrong. Like i mentioned before you be lucky to get one from someone who does not value CFW & would give it up cause they do not care much for there PS3 That is not a everyday thing either. .Looking for a PS3 on 355 or less is not as simple as it was before & now most likely will find PS3s that have been downgraded more than a original for sale.

I like to see a original PS3 not downgraded for that price now, without looking for weeks / months. Not a piece of junk either that has been used up ..

here in Egypt things are very easy go to the black market eny time and buy new cfw 3.55 not just that u also get 10 games free in hdd slim 350$ fat 280$

That does not happen in the USA. I wish it was simple but there are laws that we have to deal with much more strict that most other ,regions/countries.

I run a ps3/xbox repair service , and I always have a ad on craigslist in my area to buy broken ps3's, I buy them for $30 fix them and then if need be downgrade them. and then turn around and sell the system with no controller , only wires for $250 on ebay... but the reason why I quoted that part of your post is because id say about %50 of the time the broken ps3's are on a lower than 3.55 fw. and I always say to myself , if only thi guy knew what he had he could have got so much more for it!

and if your still looking for that ps3 on 3.55 inbox me and we can work something out... but its gonna be a little over $200 just letting you know form the door....

So is it better to have a system that hasent been downgraded but rather its never been updated since 3.55? cause right now im running a fat 60gb original mem card slot ps3 that wasent downgraded but never updated, on rogero. But I was thinking of selling and replacing with a slim that I downgraded....

There is no difference between a ps3 that has been downgraded to 3.55, and a ps3 that has never been updated past 3.55.

If the console has been dehashed after the downgrade, it is like it was never updated past 3.55.
Now the condition of the console is a different story. It all depends on how well it was taken care of.

there is one i found on Gumtree.com.Au but he is to far away + i don't know if he is legit he is asking $60 for downgrade

$200-250 MAX

and i just need the PS3 (ON FW 3.40/3.55 + Working Blue-Ray Drive) no HDD or any other controllers so therefore it should be cheaper then buying everything with it

no worries if you think a brand new slim is worth less then $300
the funny thing is i got it for that much as soon sony started rolling out the new unhakable versions and i new it was a good chance to keep in the cupboard for future purposes lol no worries if i cant sell it for that much i wont sell it at all
and $60 to downgrade is a bargain up here it would cost in the $100 mark
