PS3 won't boot. blinking red

Hello,

I searched everywhere and couldn't find a solution and found this forum.

I was cleaning out my PS3 with compressed air and when I turned the switch back on, it immediately gave me 3 beeps and blinking red light.
No green or yellow light.

Here is the video:

Anyone have an idea what could be wrong?

Well first thing first, ps3 is standing upright. The old phats should never be positioned like that, as the airflow is not proper that way at all. The phat should always be level, so airflow is nice and even, it will last longer too. Friends original phat was always upright and after 3yrs-4yrs he had got 4 ylod. He was told each repair that it was caked with dust causing extreme over heating.

Now for your problem, my guess is solder broke or some cord is not connecting inside.

Thanks for the reply.
I normally have it laying down but I stood it up since it broke.

I took the ps3 apart, reseat the heatsink with TIM and same problem.
Didn't find any wires loose. Not really that comfortable with soldering area so probably will look into a local shop.

I am pretty sure because the YLOD and RLOD is also the same thing . You have to reflow the system pure and simple.

YLOD and RLOD are not the same thing. They can be caused by the same thing, but RLOD is usually caused more by a bad flash.

Look HERE for the different error codes for the PS3.

Same effect.

Could it be the power supply?
I remember one thing I clearly did wrong.
When I took the PS3 out for cleaning I forgot to switch the power switch to off position before yanking out the power cord from the PS3, could that have damaged the PS3?
