I love America (& Europe and some lovely african countries(L))

:O The US voted no to ITU's suggestion/negotiations for a statecontrolled internet :D No big brother society :D Europe and some African countries voted no as well :D I ****ing love you my american, african and european brothers in here :D


The United Arab Emirates (not Qatar though, they voted against.. Dno if Qatar is part of the united arab emirates.. I dont really know much about the stuff down there, sorry brothers and sisters from down there (you do actually have some hot girls down there)), Russia and China voted for state controlled and regulated internet... What the **** is wrong with your countries guys? Thats ****ing sick. You might be good guys - I actually don't doubt you are, but ... what the ****

So... does state-controlled Internet mean that the state of California could dictate what websites its people are allowed to visit? All I know is... I didn't vote for a God damn thing and didn't even know that this was up for discussion.

No, it means state as in Federal Government. Notice that democratic governments voted no while communist governments voted yes. California as a state has no control whatsoever over that. Our federal government would rather you be able to roam the net freely so they can monitor you. Corporations are actively lobbying the government to restrict internet access to disable piracy such as not allowing you to visit sites like TPB. Since corporations own capital hill the government will try to find a medium that will allow you roam freely while disabling piracy.

Here is a prime example of the government A. violating your rights, while B. allowing you to do what you want so they can see what you're doing...
