Considering this...it sounds as though you've corrupted the flash.

if you are talking about the power cable that goes into the back of the ps3, then this should not be the problem.

yanking out the cable is the same effect as pulling the switch.
i just never heard of this problem, i would defenitely check the output of the psu, if there's a steady 5V there.

maybe @jamesnesc709 is right about the ylod thing, but usually the ps3 will turn on and then off again, in your case it just blinks without starting the ps3.

thanks everyone for their input.

Good timing on PS3 breaking though, got an FAA exam coming up in a month, mind as well study for that test.

Since it could be various problem(s), I'll just take it to a shop next month after the exam.
