Yes i got it to take a back up

this is what i did

Soldered tristate to ribbon
cleaned the the clip and all pins on the CHIP
pressed on the CLIP hard taped it down
then taped down peace of folded cardboard from an exercise book's cover + folded it in half
then taped down 10 cent piece + 20 Cent piece.
then put in first half of frame with fan on.
then cut and folded 2 pieces of cardboard and put on like you did the image with the 2 plates of metal on with big black screws.

but instead i just out the cardboard on and then put the other half of the frame.
then out the to plates on
screwed the one furthest away from the NOR Chip tightly
and the one closest slightly loose
and 2 silver screws on.

then connected it as usual fan does increase speed by a bit from 2 min and onwards

also has another fan blowing from the top onto PS3 to keep extra cool....

Has PS3 on antistatic bag and on top of carpet

not done but i would probably suggest you put
on a cold surface maybe one of those portable freezers or on something really cold

i am getting an operation completed with errors message when i byte reverse it...

the back up processes log says all OK

It always pop's up with this error when i try to extract it no matter how many dumps i try it on.

"WARNING: Dump type wasn't recognized.
It's either a unsupported dump type or a bad dump

Could not successfully extract all Dump files because an error occurred"

could this be because i am doing this with 4.31 Firmware?

can i still downgrade if dump file cannot be extracted but if it is a valid dump - once i cheek it.

maybe it just cannot extract it - and what does the extraction matter?

i think my ribbon cable is broken i move it a bit and i am back to the hardware problems all over again. il just buy a pre-owened PS3 much easier.

DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING TO PS3 UNTILL YOU GET A GOOD DUMP

if you dont get a good dump then you risk writting over your nor with garbage (it cannot read correctly so it def wont write correctly) and without a backup dump you will just have an expensive door stop.

the e3 clip is still not sat on the ps3 correctly or needs more pressure or needs more cleaning.

well thanks 4 all your help but. i think this the end 4 me hardware is not my thing.

I'll just go an buy another PS3 with 3.55 or lower firmware. -- il consider this as my Christmas present.

i dont know if your in the uk or usa etc
but you could always ask one of the downgraders if they will except your e3 in exchange for them downgrading your ps3 and postage to send it.
i think it would be a fair exchange.

I'm In Australia - no trusted downgraders hare and when it comes to a service i prefer i hand exchange + waiting on there doorstep till the service is done. i don't trust overseas postage. i need to keep a keen eye. i have trust issues.

hey can you help me im trying to downgrade i have the ps v1.2 tar edition and when i click auto it says no device found and i have an nand i have the and on both sides so im geuss i have to use one nand and the bottom nand is the cpu/gpu but i cant get winskeet to find my device
