Downgrading/jailbreaking help.
Hey guys. A while back I bought a PS3 Slim 320GB and it's currently rolling some 4.x version of the firmware. Anyways, when I bought it, I know it was 3.x something (not exactly sure which version)
Is my ONLY option to downgrading the firmware by using a physica hardware flasher? I wish it was possible with some program booting from a usb

Does it require opening the PS3 and soldering? If yes, then I'm not gonna do it.

There's no need for soldering, but you'll have to open the console.

Well, I'm guessing there's no way to check what the original factory version was? Also, I'm guessing I would brick it if I tried this downgrading method? http://ps3haxblogs.wordpress.com/201...3-55-released/

Damn. My PS3 Slim is the CECH-3004B version, so I'm ****ed either way.

Why exactly is it that this special CECH version can't be jailbroken? I searched (believe it or not) and found something about it having something called "mtldr2" but I didn't understand much of it.
A locked bootloader that we currently can't unlock, or what? |
