There is no sane reason for carrying a Gun in public.
Some psycho comes up to you with a knife, threatening to rape you, do you stand a better chance carrying a gun or stand a better chance weaponless ?

This is the affliction of the human race, we all want to hurt each other.

It think it would be kinda hard to sell that to a woman who's been raped. They would feel that's valid enough reason.

i am not from the US so i dont know what kind of laws they have about purchasing a fire weapon,i was reading an article yesterday and it was written 3 out of 4 families in the US own one or two guns,so my point is s h i t like this will be happening there is no stopping this, there will always be one disturbed person who will do stuff like this, just like that guy who shot people at the premiere of the dark knight rises, claiming that he was the joker,98% of this mass killings when deranged persons shows with guns happen in the US

Exactly, in the UK we cant buy guns, but we still have a lot of gun crime.

Criminals, they dont even have to be organised, can have guns imported from the USA via dodgy dealers. Last year one was caught who had parts shipped with other packages do various different addresses; the parts were then collected and assembled into fully working guns.

One could ask why didnt customs stop them from coming in; but the reality is that so many packages come in and out of the UK that checking them all is simply impossible, unless you want 3-5 days delivery to becomes 24-48 days!
Hell one guy was smuggling garlic into the UK. Yes garlic is legal, but you have to pay custom duty for it. However ginger has no custom duty, so he had shipped in tonnes of garlic in freight containers but claimed it contained ginger. All to get away with not paying tax.

But that's not all, soon you can pretty much, literally download a gun.
3D printers are becoming cheap to buy and soon, I would be surprised if there isnt already, there will be printer designs to print out gun parts.

But as greg said, if it isnt a gun, then it's a knife, a bat, a hammer, a screwdriver, a car, etc etc.

But when people talk about gun crime in the USA, others talks about how little gun crime there is in Canada. I think they say there are more guns in Canada than there are in the USA, but either way Canada has dramatically less gun crime.

Maybe you don't know guys, but at the very same day in China a guy killed 22 kids with a KNIFE. Should knives be not allowed too? It's pointless to debate over Gun Control, cause guns can be bought illegally, there is still be hunters guns, knives/axes/anything can be not less "effective" as a gun in a hand of a killer.

Rape was only one example and your reply did not explain how a weaker person could defend themselves against someone with a knife.....

I posted that on the first post, but he didn't kill 22 kids, he did seriously hurt them.

Is it not possible for any woman to find herself in that situation? Better to be protected than not.

There is a lot of justification for or against gun control. I'm one that believes if stricter laws like 25~50 years with a gun crime short of defending self; should be in order. Vicious gun crimes such as the tragedy yesterday, life...if perpetrator lives through it.
