I don't know of that song, but no the title is completely serious.

I am a moron but I am somewhat intelligent as well.

I really enjoy my cfw ps3 on a daily basis, so I would never purposely brick it unless I knew I could recover it.

That's what this thread is about, I know the methods I proposed will work but the moron in me needs confirmation that the restoration method is in fact valid.

Well I am sorry, But I enjoy learning as much as I enjoy playing video games.

If I have to brick a ps3 to learn then I am happy to do so.

You cannot install 2.60 on slim, as lv0 does not have drivers for it. @butnut
see lv0 page on wiki http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Lv0#Hardware_Support
BE:12S DD1.0 2.70 / BE:12S DD2.0 2.70 // SB:ZX1.0 2.70 / SB:ZX1.1 2.70 /

http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Boot_modi#LED_Diag_Mode only works on CECHL and later

also, minimal version is inside encrypted syscon

all in all, pretty useless topic.

@euss talk.

Yes, you can install 2.60 or lower in a slim if you change the eid0 to accept the pup.

Of course the ps3 will be bricked because the motherboard doesn't understand how to use the drivers or whatever but the firmware is still installed.

I just want to make sure I can fix it after I do this.

Edit: Read this post.

You can install 2.60 or lower on a slim, if it is Qa flagged also. I think?

It will just brick. No need to edit the eid0.

Then restore from the brick by flashing a valid dump of before you bricked.

I like to brick my consoles, also to try and recover them. Its fun

I must of bricked my Wii with bootmii installed as boot2, about 100 times on purpose. LOL.
