Tueidj's DevolUtion ;)

as many of you know there is a fantastic GC backup loader in the shape of Devolution for the Wii, but what many of us have been waiting for is confirmation by the man himself that it will in fact run on the WiiU.

Well via vWii we now have a teaser video for DevolUtion!

Yo dawg, we put backwards compatibility in your backwards compatibility so you could run gamecube games over HDMI.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=rlcVdL8r9lk

The video was made on 16/11/12 and is running on r168 (as yet unreleased) version of devolution, but I am unclear how it is booted from clean rip on the HBC channel.... to be fair there is no real proof its done on a WiiU.. could be done on dolphin, but Tueidj isn't known for messing about so...

Good times ahead!

I am going to add follow up info here (some of which might be rumors for now):

Tueidj said he actually patched an IOS to make it use xbox 360 controllers through the USB dongle so as long as the (WiiU) pro controller REALLY connects through the same revision of bluetooth as a Wii and not through like a modified WiFi adapter or something that I've heard rumors that's used to connect the gamepad, it might be possible, yeah.
I am fairly sure I have read that it (WiiU pro controller) is essentially just a classic controller pro with a "built in" wii remote; in other words, I think it should work "as is"
This indicates it should be possible to have the WiiU pro controller (http://wiiubrew.org/wiki/Pro_Controller) connect to a regular Wii or vWii for use on devolution/devolUtion

r169 is available as of right now at http://www.tueidj.net/gc_devo.zip and http://www.tueidj.net/gc_devo_src.zip
I'm not sure whether it will work on a Wii U or not, and even in the video there's no way to control the game. It's a good start but we are still a ways away from running GC games on a Wii U.

Also, it is not booted from clean rip; He has CleanRip selected on the HBC but he sent the Devolution .dol file from his PC via WiiLoad. As it loads you can see an IP address which indicates it's loading via the network rather than the SD card.
