![]() I installed the first set of files but PS3 cut off (probably from overheating). When I tried to continue...nothing. I have since, changed the thermal paste and here we are now with 3 beeps and blinking red lights. |

but i think i need to re-write some of it with your help. can you re-do the following steps:- in the tab (installing the downgrade patch)do the(one-key downgrade) step then (Finishing the downgrade in service mode) step once you do this part of the above step:- click here
After triggering Factory Service Mode, go to the folder called “service mode files” & in there is a folder called “service mode 3.55 downgrade files” put the contents of that folder into your usb stick and plug it in the PS3's right most USB port (remove the dev usb & put your usb memory stick in its place)
(the files are rogero cfw v3.2 and the normal Lv2diag.self (365.5 KB) 3.55 get in FSM ) Turn PS3 on, it will install the firmware you had put there (even though you have no screen output, you can see it is busy by looking at the activity led of the hard drive and of your USB Mass Storage Device). then swap hdd's and re-do the above again. once the second hdd is done then get out of service mode. swap hdd's again (so ofw hdd is in the ps3) and now do the de-hashing step (check your not still QA flagged by doing the button presses. you shouldnt be but better safe than sorry) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- now at this point you should be able to boot as normal with the switch set as ofw and cfw (the fast dual boot should be turned off now) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- let me know when you get here. or if you have probs getting this done. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
just glad you have it working now ![]() just remember i havent used the E3 clip on a phat nor so i was a bit slow finding the answer i sent you. and be carefull with that ribbon the last thing you need is fold lines in it or a tear. its getting close to xmas now so my replies will soon slow down. i sooo need a xmas drink or 2 ![]() ************* [ - Post Merged - ] *************
you need to solder the tristate to sbe on E3 linker or solder tristate on ps3 to a gnd on ps3 set flash fun on e3 this will then halt the ps3 and stop it shutting off. now re-do the guide from (installing the downgrade patch) when you have finnished that step then remove the tristate to gnd or turn flash fun off if tristate is soldered to sbe on the E3 ps3 should boot to connect controller screen. turn off ps3 and do the downgrade in fsm step. good luck ![]() @Sarah1331 like button not thanks button poor lad is confused enough without looking for a button that isnt there

@baileyscream
In regards to this: your ps3 is now in a panic / brick you need to solder the tristate to sbe on E3 linker or solder tristate on ps3 to a gnd on ps3 I don't know anything about soldering. I'm using the flasher with the nor clip (nothing to solder). Is there any other workaround or am I screwed? Also I did not have to use the linker at all. 1) HD1 (switch 000000) I repeat step (installing the downgrade patch) with (one-key downgrade) and then (Finishing the downgrade in service mode) step 2) enter the FSM and install the firmware. PS3 will turn itself back off When it has finished installing the cfw on HD1 3) swap with HD1 HD2, turn on ps3 and repeat 2) .... I'm still in FSM .... so I install cfw on HD2. once the second hdd is done , get out of service mode and ps3 turn off again. 4) swap again with HD1 HD2 (i have two HD with cwf installed above.) Or i can continued with HD2....and i turn on ps3 (switch 000000) 5) with the HD1 do the de-hashing step to install the ofw first 3:55 and then any cfw. 6) at this point i be able to boot as normal with the switch Set as ofw (000000) and CFW (010000)... and now i have fast dualboot with HD1 (ofw) and HD2 (CFW) ? if the steps above are correct, there is no need (dual boot process) step, (install the cfw to the normal chip) and step (1 key fast swap) step ....? |

I am sure it does ask for 4.21. Because it is normal for the update to go slow until around half way. Then it goes real fast. because it is doing checks, and if the checks pass it quickly finishes and reboots. So, to downgrade you will need a hardware flasher. Disappointing, since you were on 3.55. You could have done this here.

ok so i have been on for 5 days and i still haven't managed to get a decent dump. the clip does not sit on the spansion chip tightly and I have tried all different methods of applying pressure. i have sanded down the clip i have tried with pads on top and also coins on top. but i get the same error every time 10001100. I have tried this on a dia 001 board and 2 jtp slim boards. same error every time. I did get 1 good dump from the phat dia board but it would not byte reverse using flowrebuilder, so i tried reseating the clip and now it's back to the same old story of the dreaded 10001100 error code. grrr........ Looks like i'm gonna have to either buy a new clip or try my hand at soldering. Unless anybody here can suggest something i maybe missing.
