Alright, I finally got a new coverboard for my flasher and it works, but I need help with a new problem. I downloaded the Nor Dump Patcher and did as instructed. I placed the bkpps3.bin file into the folder and dragged it into the exe file, but I keep getting an error message saying: Error opening patch file !! Please make sure to place the Nor Dump inside the Program's folder before you Drag and Drop.

Except that's what I did! I followed the instructions down to the letter! Am I doing something wrong? Please help!

I've tried to downgrade a ps3 with a Spansion chip but allways get the same error (10001100 Failed to initialize PS3 BIOS)

But if i try with a different PS3 with another chip i dont have any error...

what could it be ? This is allways with Clip i dont know how to solder

Hi,

I have followed your guide and it went pretty good untill chapter 2 point 12.
Press start on flasher, and wait for blue leds to light up 1 by 1. When done lights will alternate flash.
I have installed the e3 flasher succesfully, also the e3 update was succesfull. I have made 2 fully correct validated Nor dumps and saved them to my desktop. After patching the last succesfull and valide dump with rogero nor patcher I put the bkpps3.bin on my sd card and put it in the e3 flasher. I put all the switches down, booted the ps3 and waited for the main menu to fully load. I pressed start and It gave this error code: 10001111, which means: Failed to write PS3 BIOS, Check pads / clip at PS3 board check may not be properly seated.
When I powered down my ps3, and wanted to retry it my ps3 starts up (ps3 shows green light) and after a couple of seconds the ps3 shuts down completly (without a red standby light). When I press the powerbutton again, the red light apears again and when I press again, the ps3 shuts down after a couple of seconds with the same results.
Did I brick my ps3? I am afraid I did and i am not a hero with soldering (although I want to learn it). I followed this guide like it was written but somehow the downgrade failed. Can you help me out? Mayby it's something else? I was suprised my ps3 just didn't shut down immediatly after that errorcode but I had to do it myself.

Any help?

Edit: I forgot to mention that when my ps3 shuts down after the couple of seconds it doesnt make any sound (NO 3x beeps)

Hello everyone,

I have had tried manytime to downgrade my ps3 Model 2501a 160gb, and i allways get stuck at Part 1 Downgrade to Rogero 3.7 #12.

Waitting for the blue leds light to clear and Flasher 1,5,6,7,8. I did all the above instrution just fine.
but cann't get past this part #12.

Everything boot up XMB main menu just fine. So, does that mean i install the E3 flasher correct. I check and check the clip look good and fat to the motherboard.

Did you validate your dump? You may be trying to patch a bad dump.
Or try and redownload PS3 Nor Dump Patcher. Make sure to put the bkpps3.bin file in the folder with the .exe, then drag n drop.

Sounds like either your clip has come loose and is not making a good connection anymore.
Or your PS3 is not downgradable to 3.55.
Did you use min. version checker tool?

Solder a wire from the sbe to the nor tristate. Then flash your valid dump (make sure to get it double checked by someone, before trying to flash it!) with switch 1 up and the rest down. You should then be unbricked.

If not then your either your clip is not secure or you don't have a valid dump.

You do not know if you clip is installed correctly, until you get multiple valid dumps.

I do not understand what you mean you can not get past this part? What happens when you try that part? Error code?
You have validated your dump right?

Are you having the same problem by bricking, as @Migali ?

Will a friend of mine sent me his PS3 and he was trying to flash it using E3 Clip, but as he told me, the Reading hang up during the process (He did not write only read), now when the PS3 turns on, it gives a yellow light immediately and goes into blinking red and it beeps 3 times. the blinking red stays until i press the power button again it goes into solid red
Also the Fan Jumper was pulled from its place, this one is fixed by soldering the Wires to the alter points, now the fan spin but just for a second since the PS3 shuts immediately. is receiving not enough Voltage to the fan will make it make the ps3 works?

I tried wiring Tri to Grd point without anything else installed (Prog or E3 Linker not installed). but the same.
is this a brick symptom or Hardware issue, since i tend to think it is hardware and do not wanna spend an hour soldering 50 wires for nothing.

No my ps3 luckly is not brick, but when i did reset all the buttons down and press start (#12). Light 1,5,6,7,8 Blink. And my nor dump file is 16,384kb i did its four times and patch allso like the instruction said and is still the same. so is that a bad dump. And how do i upload the Nor Dump on this board? so you can see what is wrong with my dump or what i did wrong.

If you soldered a wire from tristate to ground, and it still does it. Then it is definitely not a problem with the flash.
You have a hardware problem.

Just checking the size of your dump is not good enough. You need to follow the guides that are linked to validate it with a hex editor.

Sounds like the clip is not on secure enough to write to the flash. Which is probably a good thing. Because if your dump is not valid, you would of bricked.

Upload your dump to a site like mediafire. Then look at this thread to get someone to check it for you.

But 300x Series console cannot be downgraded
