go for one clip. dont bother yourself with soldering. i have broke 1 clips only after flashed succesfully 2 ps3. its so ****ing fragile.

Who is the most reliable distributor for the clip? I'm in the UK and obviously gonna be a delay now with christmas. I'm gonna take a trip to maplin tomorrow and get me some nice wire and a fine soldering iron and some flux. the phat DIA 001 board i don't really care for. it has a faulty laser and I'm just using this console to educate myself in the art of downgrading. I have had it apart for more than 25 times trying to seat that clip and now I'm gonna solder the phuka. I'm still gonna want a clip though but think i need to start soldering as i think I might enjoy the challenge.

I just downgraded the slim ps3. now I need to go to service menu. I have PS3 Jailbreak2 dongle. I am trying to press power & eject button. but its always come to these screen



PS3 Jailbreak2 will work ??

soldering it has great benefits but it needs some skills. a good (and expensive too) solder iron can make things simpler. i only purchase from modshipcentral (canada) due to the fact i live in albania. it has fast shipping (UPS). i purchased once from france (done more than 20 ps3 with that clip before it broke) but shipping sucked and was more expensive than the others.

you need to program jb2 for downgrade. your not entering fsm

If you buy the E3 Clip Suit it comes with 1 clip and 1 E3 Linker. I got mine from a French website (foxchip) which is of course not the cheapest way but it arrived in 3 days and no customs charge. For a cheaper option, one of the legit China based website is probably the way to go if you don't mind a 2 week wait.

Also, make sure you are buying good equipment that will make the job easy. Kynar wire, leaded solder 60/40 mix, no clean flux, isopropyl alcohol.

Have you tried connecting it to your PC and updating/flashing it for downgrade? If it has the ATmega32L chip you may find it will not work with the DYN-001 motherboard found in CECH-20*** PS3 Slims.

I've already got a flasher with linker so I'm gonna start with that and if i get good I'll treat myself to a progskeet. gonna learn with what i have at my disposal rather then run out and buy new. what kind of soldering iron am i looking for

A temp controlled one is best or a 15-20w

No its not ATmega32L chip. I tried to download the file from E3-tech. but all brocken link. can any one help to program PS3 JB2 for entering fsm

PS Jailbreak 2 can be tricky depending on what chip is on the board. You can try Atmel Flip software, just google "atmel flip" and download off the atmel website as the program is freeware. Hopefully the chip in your PS Jailbreak 2 is on the device list of the software.
